When you build your port in civi just to get the boost

I bet the owner wanted to build a small house or granny flat and couldn't get zoning permission... So he found a loophole

Surprised it's a sailboat. How deep is that pond to accept a boat with a keel? At least 5-6 feet for clearance that close to the edge. Maybe it has a retractable centerboard, though.

Maybe its jammed into the mud

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

are you calling punkwalrus a stick in the mud

Probably, although with a bit of imagination I could see a case where this could be real: they've made repairs to the boat and want to test it's keeping water out and so just put it in the dugout instead of hauling it to a proper body of water. Not sure why they'd have the mast up though, unless I guess the mast step or something with the stays was part of the repair being tested.

I think the right hand side of the picture has a hill in the foreground. The lake continues behind the hill.

[–] jj4211@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Good catch, this could be a little piece of a much more credible larger body of water, we just can't see the connection from this angle.

Quit laughing, it's just low tide right now.

Noah just before the flood

Hey! When that pond floods, that boat can travel three, maybe even four, feet!

[–] CovfefeKills@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Hey if you want an extra room on your property you could get boats like that for free.

[–] thedeadwalking4242@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

I love how it's still tied up

"Im taking a few days off to go enjoy some time on my sailboat."

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It's not the size of the boat that matters...

[–] Ceruleum@lemmy.wtf 2 points 1 month ago

Unless it's like really really small!

[–] krisevol@lemmus.org 1 points 1 month ago

That's a really cool parking spot

[–] WereCat@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago
