I was just thinking this morning how we all watched "jackass". How are we all this normal?

Ah the classics.
I still have nightmares because of this to this day.
I hate you, you know how many years I've spent locking this episode away to protect myself from further trauma.
Sends a shiver down my spine.

I smell something stiiinky!

A lot of children's entertainment is body horror... I was recently rewatching Spongebob with my kids, and even that had a bunch of scenes where horrible things happened to the characters.
Literally the same animators making the same joke
Whoa, TIL
I mean.... Itchy and Scratchy? Tom and Jerry? Wile E. Coyote? This isn't really new.
But Itchy and Scratchy was literally a parody of Tom and Jerry poking fun at how central violence was to the humor.
Squidward's toenail 🥲
Fish sauce!
It's Ren & Stimpy, but I have no idea which episode.
The weirdest part of ren and stimpy for me was always the smash cuts to the grossout oil painting-like still frames.
Pure nightmare fuel.
They were called gross ups
King of the Hill had a couple of hitters as well
Thank you. I'd have had to see some of them if i were to look up what they're called.
Well worth the search, I have been collecting them for years for reaction texts and avatars.

Come with me we'll go and see a place called Candied Island ❤️
Loved that. I think spongebob got the idea from them and made it work so well. I miss old animation, real art and soul.
The closeups... yes I can still see them etched in my mind lol. John K was a bodily fluid artisan
They called them "gross-ups" and I love them.
They were pretty F-ed up to a teenage mind on LSD, or so I'm told.
I grew up in a sheltered environment. I was friends with these guys:

Fun fact: Heifer is voiced by Tom Kenny who went on to voice SpongeBob.
He was also on the greatest show of all time called "Mr. Show with Bob and David". And went on to become an absolute legendary voice actor. His imdb page is absolutely insane.
I’ve been needing to watch that, I’ll move it up the list.
Honestly so is that of the guy who did Rocco. Whose credits include among other things the Taco Bell dog and Spyro the Dragon.
Carlos Alquazari definitely did a lot more things, like reno 911. Hillenbrand was a creative executive on Rocco and went of to create spongebob. And, yes, go immediately and watch mr show. It's not just me saying it, its sooooo many comedians favorite comedy ever. Groundbreaking in so many ways.
Oddly enough, he only voiced Spyro once or twice and Tom Kenny ended up doing the remake and a couple games. Spyro has had way too many different VAs, lol.
Just seconding that mr show is amazing. Honestly every episode always has at least one great sketch and the way they run into each other is very fever dreamesque (in a good way). Like there usually isn't a clean cut between one sketch to another, they kind of just flow but the things linking them are usually odd - like it'll be at the end of a sketch and zoom in on a tv in the background and that leads to the next sketch. Variations of that sort of thing.
Rockos modern life was such a banger show too. I'm an almost 40 year old guy and I still occasionally watch episodes of Rocko or a courage the cowardly dog when I need that nostalgia hit.
That show was still pretty wierd.
Yeah, he was constantly getting invitations from his neighbor. Not to mention he worked for a phone sex service.
Isn't this also the show that had the bit where a group of butch women on motorcycles show up and proceed to devour all the carpet in his house (i.e. "munching carpet/rug munching")?
That was Cow and Chicken. Those were the “Buffalo Gals” (“won’t you COME OUT tonight” was their refrain if I recall).
yeeaa, the guy that made that is not safe around kids...
My friends and I had our very own "Log". Was a nice piece of firewood that we put a Bud Light six pack holder around it.
Lasted several months and we burned it during the last camping trip that Summer.
"No sir. I don't like it."
