Israel awoke to a frightening new reality on Thursday as it absorbed, with disbelief and largely in silence, the terms of Trump’s agreement to end the war with Iran.

It is a disastrous deal from Israel’s point of view, analysts said, because it accomplishes none of Israel’s war aims and arguably leaves the country in worse shape on each of them.

“It’s a bad agreement in which the Americans are paying with cash, and got, at the maximum, a letter of intent,” Yaakov Amidror, a hawkish former national security adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, said in an interview.

These people wanted us to implement a draft and throw millions of Americans at Israel’s most fortified enemy in the region for peanuts. Fuck AIPAC and all other Israeli organizations that want us to fight their battles for them. We’re staying home and we’re not fighting anyone.

That's exactly what Israel wants: let someone else do their genocide for them.

[–] alanjaow@lemmy.world 30 points 2 days ago

It's because their people are special, and shouldn't be sent to die.

[–] NM_Gringo@lemmy.world 48 points 2 days ago

Should we remind them they started this dumpster fire? Bombed and invaded their neighbors, then dog walked Dementia Man into joining them. Sorry but they played themselves and now they're stuck with the consequences.

If only there was an incredibly public record of the last 30 years of massive incompetency and self serving done by the guy they rallied behind. Idiot fascists.

Get fucked bibi

I still dont know why Israel exists. Like no one needs a "homeland" that was promised in a fairy tale a million years ago. Creating a homeland for an ethnic or religious group doesn't work. Just look at India and Pakistan. Worked out wonderfully right? Wrong.

Pissrael is like what, 75 years old? It has no tradition or culture deep enough to warrant all the suffering it creates, it should be dismantled, scrapped and sold for parts.

Very much a “tragic, the worst person you know makes a great point moment”

Edit: to be clear fuck Israel’s motives here but it is a capitulation on an unprecedented scale

Good. Fuck 'em.

I like how they just expect the American government to just prioritize their interests over its own. Like "this is a bad deal because it hurts Israel" then you should've fucking shown up when they were negotiating the deal you dingus.

[–] Armok_the_bunny@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Frankly I was under the impression they weren't invited, completely justifiably.

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Potato potato really. Either they refused to participate because they're fascists who don't want peace, or they weren't invited because they're fascists who don't want peace.

[–] Armok_the_bunny@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Yeah, I can agree with that.

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.cafe 18 points 2 days ago

Oh no how unfortunate.

[–] frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io 20 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Why? They can keep bombing whoever they want. Did they not anticipate a loss of focus from the ballroom guy?

[–] Yggnar@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

I haven't read the agreement but isn't one of the stipulations the fact that Israel has to stop hatefucking Lebanon?

[–] dogslayeggs@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

I'm pretty sure the deal requires Israel to stop bombing Lebanon. Which is interesting, since it forces Conservatives here to choose between their two favorite things: killing brown people and making money.

[–] SoloCritical@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago

Oh shit Israel is unhappy with the deal guys! We gotta start bombing again! Sorry!!

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Who said this whole thing was about accomplishing Israels war goals?

[–] EvilHankVenture@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Well then what was it about?

[–] Flower@sh.itjust.works 9 points 2 days ago

They put their money on the idiot just starting a war, ignoring the warnings this could hang people out to dry, and now they're shocked he can just stop the war leaves certain people hanging out to dry.

[–] nondescripthandle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (2 children)

They're begging for Biden back lmfao

The truth hurts.

[–] mrdown@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I don't know why they abandonned the "if israel did not exists, we had to create one" guy

[–] Buffalox@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Because Trump went along with what the Democrats wouldn't.

[–] mrdown@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 days ago (2 children)
[–] Buffalox@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

To project strength, instead of actually starting a war.

[–] dogslayeggs@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

An exercise? Your evidence that Biden would have been more in line with Israel's plans than Trump is that they did an exercise in an area of the world where the US is constantly starting shit and "needs" to be prepared for the next time they start shit?

[–] mrdown@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Why a proud Zionist like Biden enabling the genocide like trump would not be as much in line with Israel's plan as Trump?

Yes an exercise leading to this war like the Russian exercise leading to the invasion of Ukraine Zapad-2021 and Union Resolve 2022
