I own RDR2 already and would sooner die than play multiplayer or pay for it again if you know what I mean. I honestly don’t have much interest in GTA6 unless it’s the gaming equivalent of a black swan event. Rockstar has little to offer me at this point and the will get no more of my money

In really big cities they do have some sway, but at least in Seattle there was also a lot of turn over in the city council that looks more friendly to the left, and any success in a big city can be used as a policy example.

NYC on the other hand is a different animal entirely, I’d hesitantly say Mamdani is the most powerful city mayor on the planet, and if he’s not he’s top 3 because of how central the city is not just nationally but globally.

I don’t know of any other mayoral races besides this and NYC, but that alone is huge. Two of the largest shipping hubs on both sides of the country being run by people who want to make life better for as many people as possible, could be both the marker and catalyzing agent for the exact sort of tide shift you’re describing

I could’ve guessed MTG because even though she’s insane the one thing she has always been consistent on from day one is protecting children from being trafficked. She was Qanaon crazy lady, and so many of those folks got sucked in by the “ xxxxxx missing children a year” side of that conspiracy. Again she’s a bad person and out of her damn mind but she is genuine in her motivation, at least on this issue

It’s actually kind of wild to see that even this waste of life, somehow not only had enough of an understanding of consensus morality to realize what he was doing was cruel and evil, but that somehow Trump is much worse.

Bannon is a piece of shit ghoul but of MAGAs most influential assholes he’s ones of the few that has enough guile to understand what will happen if they somehow lose the gambit they’ve embarked upon. At this point Im of the belief that the Union as a whole is no longer fixable, the divisions are so deep that even a constitutional convention would either accomplish nothing or be taken over by bad faith actors that have been bought by the rich. Unfortunately I am exceedingly of the belief that we won’t be able to get out of this without a complete overturning of the current hegemony/status quo.
