Where's the footage of these evil Dems dumping buckets of algae in the pool? Any (reliable) eyewitness reports? Any scientists taking samples and maybe seeing if the algae was recently disturbed/transplanted?

You know more about water chemistry than most of my coworkers at my power plant. I get so tired of telling them to watch the tower pH and make sure the acid is running in auto so the hypo will actually fucking do something. It's a miracle that our condenser performance isn't trashed by fouling. I've caught tower pH at fucking 9 before when it's supposed to be 7.0-7.5, and I'm trying to push for 6.8-7.2.

It's amazing since all I kept hearing for the past month as this was being done was that this does nothing to fix the underlying issues and that its just going to be the same as it was within weeks due to the heat and low water level. If anything it would be worse due to the dark paint used to absord more heat. Now were here and exactly what was predicted happened and people really blaming shit on more crazy lies lol. These people are beyond nuts.
Sounds like the average large project with multiple project managers.

Given that it's probably the most CCTV covered pond in the world maybe Palantir can find the dastardly scooby doo villains using tax payer's money and a rain forest of llm tokens.
I’m no expert in artificial lake management, but apparently the reason for the algae booms is leakage of the filtration piping that disperses treated water into the soil instead of allowing it to fully circulate into the pool.
The $34 million dollar Obama-era refurbishment attempted to address this with a new system fed by the Potomac river instead of the DC municipal water system, but leakages persist. Trump’s refurbishment project has not made changes to the filtration, piping, or pumping facilities which is probably why algae will continue to be a problem.

It has apparently always been a problem and without a complete overhaul of the plumbing to be redone to accomodate these fixes it wont change. I think Obama had a bid out to have it done but did not do it when it was like 20 million to do it. I also think it's hilarious that he just spent 10 million to do absolutely nothing. At least his pool company is now rich. From my understanding even that paint job will only last like 5 years tops.

Online federal contracting records show that $1.7 million was awarded to Green Water Solutions for the ozone nanobubbling system, while $14.2 million was awarded to Atlantic Industrial Coatings to line the pool in the color “American Flag Blue.”
It's an ozone system, just like the one before it.
An Interior Department spokesperson said that the current algae is “residual” from supply lines that sat dormant for eight weeks during construction. The residue is part of the normal startup process, the spokesperson said.

I don't know why they wouldn't drain the lines but okay.
I don't know the details of the new system. If it's only for treating the new water being fed into the pool like the old one, it's not going to prevent all blooms just minimize the amount of algae or food brought in with the new water.
You can't constantly be bubbling ozone through open pools of water because it off gasses. When it's used as a disinfectant in drinking water the offgas need to be captured and treated.
