Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

moments in which the president closes his eyes and appears to doze off are actually instances of him leaning in to “better hear someone speaking,”

Let's test this theory and ask him for a 200 word summary of the meeting afterwards.

Is "glitch" now slang for shitting yourself?

It’s perfectly normal for an 80 year old to have health issues

It isn’t to pretend he’s a god and lie about those issues. It isn’t normal to pretend this doesn’t affect their ability to do an important job too.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 2 points 9 hours ago

It's not uncommon to have health issues at that age, but it's more common for 80-year-olds to not have obesity, dementia and incontinence.

Trump does the least amount of work of any president in history and yet has done the greatest amount of damage

[–] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 5 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

the task of destruction is infinitely easier than that of creation

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 7 hours ago

DonOLD and his mob of conservatives are very much like the kids that kick over sandcastles that other kids have constructed.

[–] northernlights@fedia.io 4 points 1 day ago

Yep, that's past when generally anybody honest with themselves retire.

They've never really had trouble lying before, now will be no different.

"You don’t have to wish me a happy birthday, because I’m not happy about that birthday. It’s a number that I never thought really too much about. It’s not a number I like, but I’m here nonetheless.” - a giant orange human-shaped piece of feces

he clearly didnt expect to live this long, which explains his complete lack of planning in anything whatsoever

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 2 points 9 hours ago

Or he just never plans because he's a moron.

[–] hume_lemmy@lemmy.ca 8 points 21 hours ago

He's never planned anything ever. He's a malignant narcissist... he thinks everything will just work because of the force of his awesomeness, and when it doesn't it's because of evil sabotage.

[–] volore@scribe.disroot.org 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

being fair, nobody who's paying attention would've expected him to live this long either. You seen the way he eats? I've been expecting him to drop dead of a massive infarction every day for the past ten years and it still has not come to pass.

[–] northernlights@fedia.io 5 points 1 day ago

Dude does have 22 docs for his routine checkups. Being president has its perks.

[–] northernlights@fedia.io 1 points 1 day ago

I mean if he wants to stop the shit show there's a simple solution.

So, now that he is turning 80, we will stop seeing references to his age in headlines and stories. The media kept emphasizing he was 79, not yet 80. Now, we'll never see mention of it again.

My grandfather at 80 was still driving to the nursing home to visit my grandma and to the local grocery store. He certainly was not capable at that age of doing anything more complicated than that.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 2 points 9 hours ago

It varies a lot at that age. My grandfather could still murder me at chess when he was well into his 90s, and I was a strong player back then. He also walked 5 miles a day, fast.

But my other grandfather was crippled by rheumatoid artritis and barely mobile in his 80s.

[–] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 12 points 22 hours ago

my wife's grandfather drove until he was 93, had a cute little minivan he would drive 2 miles to the church, so he could pick up meals-on-wheels to deliver to the neighbors who weren't able to get out. Watched a 90+ year old deliver lunches to a bunch of 70-80 year olds lol, and he knew when it was time to hang it up and stop driving. Guy was a fantastic example of goodness.

glitches is not the word most of us would use here.

[–] bcgm3@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago

Boo boos, perhaps. Oopsie-poopsies, maybe. But yeah, not glitches. Those are what Glitch McConnel does.

[–] Eldritch@piefed.world 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Malfunction is the only way he's ever functioned.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Maybe they should try turning him off, then on again.

Or even better, skipping the latter.

[–] Hayduke@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They didn’t handle Mitch’s reboots very well either.

[–] NOPper@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Haven't heard a peep about that dude in a really long time now. Hmm...

[–] MrShankles@reddthat.com 10 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

He's in the hospital again right now

[–] Hayduke@lemmy.world 2 points 21 hours ago

Yeah, that was weird timing.

[–] dizzle18@lemmy.zip 13 points 1 day ago

"Glitches"

Today I learned we could've saved my grandma from Alzheimer's if we had just factory reset her software. Good to know.
