Wow, what an absolute flipping idiot. Oh wait, he's a cop, never mind, ACAB.

Post humorous takes on capitalism and the states which prop it up. Memes, shitposting, screenshots of humorous good takes, discussions making fun of some reactionary online, it all works.

This is an anarchist comm. You don't have to be an anarchist to post, but you should at least understand what anarchism actually is. We're not here to educate you.

No shaming people for being anti-electoralism. This should be obvious from the above point but apparently we need to make it obvious to the turbolibs who can't control themselves. You have the rest of lemmy to moralize.

The copaganda is strong enough that this is unquestioningly portrayed as an "accident".
But, when someone aims a weapon (or vaguely similar object) at a cop, the cop almost always starts shooting. Dude might've feel disrespected or intimidated or whatever. Maybe not just joking around.
Everybody does a desk pop!
I really wish the titles were more accurate, it should read "Officer shoots coworker while negligently handling service weapon"
But that officer's gun goes off
Some crazy copaganda passive voice in play here.
If you put all the cops in a room, how long until there's only one left
Edit: this is actually a really good premise for a movie
Or just in general as like, a good idea.
Pigs are fucking dumbass bottom feeders. And the state gives them weapons. Preventing an accidental discharge is actually quite easy when you don’t treat your firearm like a fucking toy. I’ve yet to have one cos I don’t treat my firearm like a fucking toy.
Go to any police station bathroom that the cops use. There is ALWAYS at least one bullet hole in a stall where a cop was fucking around with their sidearm while taking a shit.
IME there's also free body armor and a giant purple two-headed dildo.
"counting or not counting gang violence?"
I mean... cops are technically just state funded gangs 🤷
thier union is pratically a gang/mafia that can strongarm the cities, so technically not a true union.

I love hyenas. And "shoot at noises" is making me full on belly laugh.
Also consistent with gnoll behavior.
So this is the version cops take.
5; don't be a moron (or a cop)
that hyena is about to flamethrower a noise. That ship has sailed.
Everyone knows the first rule of gun safety is 'Just have fun'
That's not what "accidental" means though. If you're fucking around with guns, you expected this. You were taught about this exact thing in gun safety class FFS.
More cops should play this game
If only the natural selection worked on both of them...
This is very traumatic to those of us who have lost friends in a freak gasoline fight accident. You people are so insensitive.
freak gasoline fight?
It's a reference to a movie with Ben Stiller in it. (I only remember two things from the movie: that line and Ben Stiller)
What about the Center for Kids Who Can't Read Good and Who Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too?
Nope
i expect nothing less from cops.
When you can be too smart to be hired, this is what exists under the high water mark.
Some people think guns are fun to shoot.
I think guns are fun to shoot, too, but gun safety has to come first.
Even if you're anti-cop/ACAB, you should know your way around guns, or at least understand basic firearm safety. Even people who are afraid of guns (and especially them) should be able to pick up a random handgun they find in the street some poor kid could accidentally use on themselves/their friends/siblings, disarm it, and even disable it. If we're in a fight and you drop your handgun, I can quickly unload it and pull the slide off, and throw both in opposite directions. You're not firing it any time soon. You'll have to find all the parts first and you'll have to know how to put it together. I'm not a tough guy. I'm a nerd who builds phones and used to mod phones (until I got sick of that shit and just got an iPhone). I can also handle guns, and I shoot pretty good (though, only ever at paper targets). You don't have to love guns. But make them your friend. If you don't want the gun to work for you, make it not work for someone who might use it on you. In old cartoons, they'd just bend the barrel U-shaped. You can't do that IRL. You can make it just as useless though.
Booger hooks and whatnot.
Cop jokingly shoots his coworker while accidentally pointing guns at each other
Your pfp really fits to this scenario
Oh, “disciplinary action has been taken”. So everybody has learned their lessons and everything is okay. The problem has been solved. Great! /s
And it only took the judicial system 10 months to figure it out.
I've heard (no idea where, might be fake) that the NYPD used to get special Glocks that had a very heavy trigger. They probably had a few incidents like this they wanted to address.
Yeah, in the game Receiver it tells you about firearms and firearm safety while playing. One of the stories is about cops getting glocks in the US. The standard handling in Europe was no round chambered and no safety, since it couldn't fire until you chambered a round. In the US it was always have a round chambered, but rely on a safety mechanism to prevent discharges. The Glock, being a European gun, didn't have a mechanical safety. A lot of cops apparently accidentally discharged their firearm because of this.
(I've never fact check this, and it's been like 10+ years since I heard this, so some details may be wrong.)
Seriously, the first guy was clearly joking around because he didn't actually pull the trigger but the guy who actually fired the shot had to go through serious conscious decision to release the safety and pull the trigger, what was he thinking?? They're both idiots and glad at least the guy who fired the shot was expelled from his job.
Yeah I'm really questioning whether this was an "accident"... Or if the second guy was firing because a loaded gun was pointed at him. Cops usually don't like that.
I just saw this on youtube shorts i was shocked lol.
The real crime is that title.
