Start putting these on the pumps:

[–] GuyFawkesV@lemmy.world 19 points 2 weeks ago (4 children)

Fairly certain my Trump “I did that” stickers come down the same day I put them up.

Glad I sprung for the 100 pack.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I bet anything the same bunch that were screaming "make comedy legal again!!111eleventy!" and slapping their knees at how hilarious those Biden "I did that" stickers were (even though he had quite literally nothing at all to do with gas prices OR inflation) are now squealing in agony and racing to tear those down when they see the highly accurate and very apropos Trump "I did that" stickers, though. 🤣

[–] athatet@lemmy.zip 8 points 2 weeks ago

Yup. They can’t handle it being thrown back at them because they are snowflakes. It’s literally always projection.

[–] architect@thelemmy.club 9 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Cut them after you put them up. Like slice them so when they go to peel them off they have to peel off a bunch of bits of sticker and not the whole thing at once.

I dunno how much longer Bobby John from Oklahoma can take filling up his RAM 3500 Dually lifted XTREME offRoad Pavement Princess Edition™ @ $150 a pop for much longer, Mr. Pedo. You're making your cult followers very angry!

Keep it up!

[–] the_tab_key@lemmy.world 70 points 2 weeks ago (21 children)

The baseline tank size for a ram 3500 is 32 gallons. Diesel is $5.74/gal on average in the Midwest. So a full fill up is ~$184/tank. You underestimated that, yikes.

For more fun, you can also upgrade to a 50 gallon tank, making it $287/tank.

These get a respectable ~18 mpg, so $0.32 per mile.

Just throwing money away

[–] socsa@piefed.social 31 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

They get 18mpg when you drive them like a fucking baby on the highway. Your average idiot who floors it at every stoplight, and does 90 on the interstate gets half that.

[–] meco03211@lemmy.world 16 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Don't forget the ~~fucking idiots~~ totally cool and definitely not compensating intellectuals that "roll coal".

[–] fartographer@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

Cutting off your toes to make people pay attention to your semi-weekly pedicure.

I have a Subaru WRX and it requires 91+ octane. It was $5.64/gal for me a couple days ago square in the Midwest. $71 to fill up and my gas light wasn't even on. Right next to the 91 on the pump was 88 at < $4.50/gal. When I filled up 2 weeks ago it was $5.09 then 2 days later $5.39. Fuck Trump and his admin so hard.

I can't think of a time past 2000 where driving conventional ICE trucks/big vehicles has been anything other than a money sink.

[–] artyom@piefed.social 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)
[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 9 points 2 weeks ago

There's some douchecanoe in my county who drives around in an obnoxiously large truck with a giant decal on the rear window that says "Daddy's money paid for this truck. AND I'M DADDY!"

These people are not reasonable, healthy, or sane individuals.

I just perused approval ratings in reuters this morning, he is 80% support amongst Republicans, which is down.

But it's a lot. Independence and Democrats so much less so that his overall approval rating is like 38% last I checked, nevertheless. His base is solid behind him.

Remember towards the end of his first term he was around 40%, and Biden was at 40% for 3 years and did nothing to change that.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 13 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

nevertheless. His base is solid behind him.

That’s what Fox News, AM radio and this lovely new crop of manosphere jerkoffs are all put on the air to do. Create this cult.

Propaganda works. Usually only in one direction, usually only on most people. Add some evil-science military psyop characteristics and yeah. You get that.

If our billionaire ‘free’ press could get to breaking that down, that’d be great kthx.

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 6 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

The Internet has just totally changed things, the crazies, the kooks, the cranks, prior to the internet they would say something crazy and be ostracized for it.

Now they get online they find a million other people that believe the same thing. And those Rich billionaires are using those crazy people for their own ends

The only answer is for us to organize and counter use those crazy people against the people trying to use them against us, that's the truth and we can do it. But obviously there's a lot more to it than that.

Obviously mass media was a thing before this and a huge problem, I was just illustrating away things have changed but you're right Fox News well first of all they are the devil, or at least the voice of evil, but the entire reason we have ended up in this place. Not just them but you know that the worst obviously. Or they were.

[–] NoForwadSlashS@piefed.social 12 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

approval ratings in reuters this morning, he is 80% support amongst Republicans, which is down.

Let's just cut our losses and all agree the USA experiment is a failure. Just split it up.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 weeks ago

The problem is, the split is largely rural vs. urban, which is scattered all over the country.

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

If only, that would solve a lot. Got the Eastern corridor, the upper midwest, the southeast Deep South Southwest and west.

Unfortunately leaving the union is not an option I seem to recall something about a group trying to do that at one point and they were prevented from doing so.

Good thing he's spending hundreds of millions of dollars to replace incumbent Republicans with candidates whose only personality trait is praising trump without question...

All this shit is going to backfire in the general, Republicans won't vote D, they just won't vote at all

[–] HarneyToker@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago (6 children)

I know my dumbass mom is “done with politics”. That’s actually the best I could have ever hoped for.

We are ruled by the dumbest dipshits on the planet.

[–] Rekorse@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

For some reason that's the biggest bummer of it all to me, how incredibly dumb and powerful these people are. I'm starting to think someone has to be dumb to want to exert power over another person in the first place. I'm sure it fuels their egos too.

I wonder what its like to live like that, it sounds incredibly foreign.

What does a gallon of gas cost? $100?

[–] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 28 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

He's never filled his own gas tank. He has no idea what the fuck we are talking about.

[–] ThomasWilliams@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

You try filling up a helicopter to weekend at your ancestral home in Valley Forge, JFC !

You povvos have no idea.

FFS, you can't keep polo horses in Manhatten, the noise and pollution stresses them.

Even more fucked when you consider these are the prices in the US with oil subsidies. It would be so much more expensive without them, and only gas-powered vehicles would be paying, and not all of us...

[–] Timecircleline@sh.itjust.works 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Except that all goods require shipping and most shipping is also done by gas powered vehicles. I wish there was a way to opt out but I don't see it being possible.

also, peanuts now $29 a can.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 23 points 2 weeks ago

It's a peanut, Michael! How much could it cost?

[–] FistingEnthusiast@lemmy.world 23 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

Americans have had cheap fuel since forever

They also seem to like stupid vehicles that are incredibly inefficient

I love my little electric car. I have solar at home and have never once charged at a station and paid for it

I mean yeah, we are sacrificing so much, but the pain is temporary, and a small price to pay for giving Iran a massive strategic boost they couldn't have gotten any other way!

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 14 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

She's holding steady captain! $6.20!

As of today, there isn't a place in the US where gas is below $4/gallon, according to GroundNews

Just remember that the current UK equivalent is $8.30 for Diesel and $7.88 for gas/petrol

I'm sure you can do better

[–] btsax@reddthat.com 6 points 1 week ago

Maybe you should spend a trillion dollars a year on a military whose only purpose is to lower that number a few dollars per gallon
