Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

This isn't about terrorism, it's about silencing the opposition.

[–] BeMoreCareful@lemmy.world 27 points 1 week ago

It brings a certain: "Why do you make me beat our children" vibe that I'm just not feeling.

It's the very fabric of humanity that they're going for.

[–] Arrandee@lemmy.world 59 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Well, if they rere trying to put their political enemies on a war footing, this is a fine way to inspire it.

On a related note, I was unaware there was international funding available. Do I get double payments for being both anticapitalist AND transgender?

[–] DupaCycki@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago

Unfortunately all funds for terrorism have been spent on Israel. Please stand in line.

[–] SuiXi3D@fedia.io 49 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Uh huh. Good luck, assholes. Gun's loaded and just waiting for you to come and get me.

[–] Unquote0270@programming.dev 14 points 1 week ago (11 children)

Wouldn't that scenario just end up with you dead?

[–] Denvil@piefed.world 28 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I mean to be fair there's a good chance it ends in the death of whatever fuckwit comes after him. If the police have a 50% mortality rate, you're probably going to run out of people who want to be police before you run out of "terrorists"

[–] aquovie@lemmy.cafe 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I wanted to say, "No, instead the police simply won't wait before starting the shooting" but tbh, they already do that. Every interaction will be a Renee Good or Alex Pretti.

Yup. But you know how all the maga assholes think trans people are deviant sexual freaks? Well, guess what they do to them in custody.

Death is preferable.

In other news, any trans folks looking to learn how to shoot, Pink Pistols has chapters all over the country, and they've been creating safe learning environments for people of all genders and sexualities for years now.

If I leave with a positive k:d it'll be a net positive for the world.

You're assuming they would take them alive to begin with. As we saw with the first killing of a self identified antifa, they didn't give him a chance, just shot him dead in his car before he could respond.

[–] DupaCycki@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Which scenario doesn't, sooner or later?

Make a note of your local red hats. Their faces. Their addresses. Don't lose this when they leave power. Keep if with people who will be safe.

Remember them. Remember the families who still spoke to them. Remember where they live. They will let their guard down someday.

[–] BeardededSquidward@lemmy.blahaj.zone 20 points 1 week ago (5 children)

I see no path forward with MAGAts that doesn't result in enormous amounts of violence.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

They're cowards by and large, so if you get people in power who aren't fascist enablers they'll crawl back under their rocks where they were before. Getting people who aren't fascist enablers in power is a big ask, though.

Counterterrorism used to mean stopping crazies from blowing shit up or killing innocent people in the United States. Now it means targeting minorities. Which gives actual terrorists free reign to attack on US soil.

Even if Trump is a Russian agent he couldn't do more damage than he's already doing.

It's like Nazism and McCarthyism fucked and had a creepy, evil, disgusting baby.

[–] WoodScientist@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Or you know, just Nazism. Trans people were some of the first victims in the Holocaust.

Trans people existing is subversive because it is an extremely high expression of freedom and challenges fundamental concepts about our world. If someone can change their gender, what else can we change? Capitalism? Politicians?

[–] Cosmonauticus@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Nah. They're just a boogeyman conservatives use to scare WASPs. If it wasn't them it'd be some other group

"I dont think trans people deserve to get hurt". "OMG ANOTHER RADICAL PRO TRANS!!!!"

[–] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 24 points 1 week ago (4 children)

What does "radically pro-transgender" even mean?

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 25 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Belief that transgender identity is valid. Which, contrary to popular belief, is supported by science. Are they going to shut down university biology departments that say sex and gender are different? Label these scientists as terrorists and execute them? It's terrifying

[–] andros_rex@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

Yes.

"Is okay with trans people existing."

[–] BillCheddar@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It means that my daughter and her friends can stand behind me.

If these Nazi cunts want to go after them, they gotta go through me first. Literally. Physically. They will have to kill me to take her.

Thanks, non-voters. You helped do this.

[–] youcantreadthis@quokk.au 21 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Thanks party that sabotaged every single effort to build coalition or enthusiasm for any opposition . You're completely blameless.

If you're trans/gay or anything else the people in power disagree with and you ever needed a sign that you need to get out whilst you still can, this was it.

Remember when people prioritized genocide on the other side of the planet and now they're going to get it right here at home?

[–] MartianRecon@lemmus.org 20 points 1 week ago (2 children)

One side wanted a two state solution the other side wanted to bulldoze Gaza. The intellectually lazy said 'they're both the same' and sat out with a smug simle on their faces.

I am not afraid of these halfwit child-raping traitors, and you shouldn't be either.

Are they gonna try? Yep. They will definitely fuck around and then, they will definitely find out.
