Not so much here that I’ve noticed, but it’s been a large issue around America in particular. It is/was a massive thing on Reddit.

“Googly-eyed kremlin bitch” is iconic

I get that. It’s just different these days because of incel culture. It was so spot on, it was hard to tell lol.

Yeah, agreed. The majority of my friends are women, and they couldn’t care less about dick size.

They do, however, care about personality.

Found myself addicted and craving cigs before I’d ever smoked one, even though I hated the smoke and the smell.

That happened to me as well. Most of my family smoked, so I was exposed to it constantly. One day, I noticed it just didn’t stink quite as bad as it used to.

So of course, I started. By the time I was in high school, I couldn’t concentrate or focus unless I smoked. I was so dumb; I had no idea what addiction was.

Ahhh, this is the way!

What a giant piece of shit that guy is.

Oh yeah it’s great for ads. I love never seeing any. I get confused now when people talk about them lol

I’m a bit lazy tbh. I just use NextDNS (which likely does fuck-all). But, I’ve yet to receive any notice, and that’s all I’ve used for a long time.

And some people still get confused when we say ACAB.

I’ll be totally honest and say that I don’t trust Evan (for reasons I’m not getting into), and I’m not sure why we need “hashtags with extra steps,” but I’d like to get opinions from people who are smarter than I am about this stuff.

Sludge at its finest.

Just checking in: anyone from Digg still here using Lemmy/Piefed, or did everyone go back to the R site?

It’s been almost exactly one year since Trevor Milton, the founder of now-bankrupt electric truck startup Nikola, was pardoned by President Trump. Now the Wall Street Journal has published one of the first deep dives into Milton’s new effort: trying to build autonomous planes.

Milton and an “investment group” purchased a downtrodden aviation company called SyberJet Aircraft late last year and he has spent the time since trying to turn the company around. That involves bringing in “dozens” of former Nikola staff, soliciting possible investors from Saudi Arabia, and spending a few hundred thousand dollars on lobbying, according to the report.

Oh this sounds perfectly safe. What could possibly go wrong?

The Giving Pledge’s numbers, reported Sunday by the New York Times, trace a steady decline. In its first five years, 113 families signed the Pledge. Then 72 over the next five, 43 in the five after that, and just four in all of 2024. The roster includes Sam Altman, Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan, and Elon Musk — some of the most powerful people in the world, and yet, in Peter Thiel’s words to the Times, it is a club that’s “really run out of energy . . .I don’t know if the branding is outright negative,” Thiel told the outlet, “but it feels way less important for people to join.”

For decades, one of the most reliable pillars of pro-Israel sentiment in the United States was not just Jews but conservative Christians. That support had a theological motor: Israel mattered not just as an ally on a Cold War map, but as a central actor on the map of the End Times. Put simply, Christians needed Jews to return to the homeland of Israel to usher in the second coming of Christ.

But now, that theological motor is sputtering.

Not surprised at all

It’s yet another black mark on Noem’s disastrous tenure at DHS. The agency shot and killed two U.S. citizens in Minneapolis on her watch while carrying out the Trump administration’s violent mass deportation agenda. Noem also faced criticism for hiring an eight-day-old company for a $220 million ad campaign for ICE, spending millions on luxury jets, and buying 2,500 trucks for ICE that the agency can’t even use, among numerous other misdeeds. What other ill-advised purchases has she saddled taxpayers with?

I’ve tried using multiple apps, and about to try via web. It always throws an error and says I can’t block them.

Is there some reason why it couldn’t be done? It works for literally every other instance.

Edit: looks like my instance already blocks it. So maybe this was a stupid question.
