Five years after the federal government announced it would restrict vaping flavours nationwide, Canada's health minister won't say when or even if it will still happen — despite widespread expert advice that a ban could help curb the country's staggering youth vaping rate.

"I'm committed to keep Canadians informed on next steps," Health Minister Marjorie Michel said in an interview with CBC News. "It's very important to me to protect youth."

Public records show the nicotine and vaping industries have been regularly lobbying Health Canada, along with Liberal ministers and MPs.

You know what could have stopped this? Banning the sale of disposable vapes instead of banning RTAs and RDAs (rebuildable tank and drip atomizers).

I'd really be interested in finding out the financial investments of the medical people who set up the restrictions and bans in the first place because I bet somebody had their fingers in that insider-information pie.

I will never understand the government's obsession with vaping. Tobacco and alcohol do far more harm. Leave us to vape in our quiet little clouds in the corner.

Choosing corporate profits over public health, it's the Liberal way. I mean sometimes I appreciate the Conservatives who have the same values but at least don't lie to me about their evil intentions.
