Authoritarianism is an admission of abject weakness.

White supremacists are the weakest and most brittle snowflakes.

[–] WizardofFrobozz@lemmy.ca 7 points 5 hours ago

It is WAY past time for the US “left,” such as it is, to earn the labels it’s receiving.

The “if you want to cry, I’ll give you something to cry about” angle is what’s needed.

[–] Snowies@lemmy.zip 25 points 19 hours ago

You’re under arrest for resisting arrest.

[–] HulkSmashBurgers@reddthat.com 27 points 20 hours ago (3 children)

Fucking ridiculous.

What's next, democrats are terrorists?

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 5 points 11 hours ago

Shhh, your not supposed to say the quiet part out loud.

[–] SethTaylor@lemmy.world 18 points 19 hours ago
[–] Sunflier@lemmy.world 22 points 20 hours ago

They're working up to it. Maybe they'll organize a ~~Reichstag~~ Republican Headquarters Fire first.

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 28 points 22 hours ago (3 children)

I am Antifa. Antifa means Anti Fascist ... so yea, if MAGAs "hated enemy" is an antifascist movement then they have basically just classified themselves.

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 3 points 11 hours ago

It is not just MAGA literally the whole world is fascist. This is why Antifacists are so hated amongst leaders of the world.

Did you forgot about the World Trade protests? Antifacists are at odds with the entire business world AKA big money. The leaders of the world cannot let this movement catch on.

[–] korazail@lemmy.myserv.one 7 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

I really hate how media gladly reused this label.

Antifa, pronounced ant-tea-fuh, allowed it to be disconnected from the actual words it was shortened from, and then used as a boogieman.

We all know there is no central antifa command center, headquarters, or organization. We are "antifa" because we are anti fascism.

As you say, you can label yourself, but you can also label yourself by your enemies.

The anti-fascists are Trump's enemies, therefore...

Shortly after all the people who fought fascists died, the GOP declares being anti-fascist - terrorism.

[–] FrChazzz@lemmus.org 15 points 20 hours ago

Recently had a WWII vet visit my parish. Dude was over 100 years old and was in town for a Pearl Harbor commemoration. He told me that he was among the first group of Allied soldiers to fly over Europe after the surrender and he described seeing people trying to make a life among the rubble of their towns and cities. He then compared this to what he was seeing in Gaza and started to lament the US' support of Israel and how he saw clear connections to what is going on there and what he witnessed in Europe. You're absolutely right, there are now too few living who remember...

[–] SethTaylor@lemmy.world 7 points 19 hours ago

The FBI official said the situation was “very fluid.”

Well, heck, I mean they are "radically pro-transgender" aren't they?

[–] Bwaz@lemmy.world 11 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Amazing how quickly the meanimg of terrorism changed over the years. When it became ok to hate terrorists, suddenly anyone you hate can be relabeled as one.

[–] FrChazzz@lemmus.org 10 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

I was still an active member of a Baptist Church in the early 2000s and I remember arguing with the leader of my Sunday School group about the dangers of the Patriot Act and how it opens the door to stuff like this. He just waved it away as me being anti-authoritarian and paranoid. Well look who was proved to be right in the end, MATT?!?

[–] QuincyPeck@lemmy.world 3 points 13 hours ago

Fucking Matt.

If you haven't already, I would start talking to your neighbors and organizing.

We already know the camps exist, and if you've seen some of the images that have been leaked you'll know the conditions are inhumane and cruel. These new labels can be applied to anyone, for any reason. And make no mistake, you don't even have to be in left-wing spaces to be accused and disappeared. So it's not just you in danger, it's everybody around you. It's your co-workers, your family, your friends. All it takes is a wrong place, wrong time.

Organize now, before you don't have that option anymore.

[–] architect@thelemmy.club 12 points 1 day ago

Mine are all maga. The people that are not maga do not want to talk about any of this.

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago

the stupid just keeps getting louder dont it

[–] boogiebored@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago

cpac is leftist now?!

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 2 points 11 hours ago

This was such a disgusting display.

[–] Pat_Riot@lemmy.today 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

We're armed too, fuckers. You don't want this.

[–] StarryPhoenix97@lemmy.world 14 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

This is the way. Get armed. Not because you want to enact violence but because you want to protect yourself and eventually they will find some trumped up reason to take away gun or ammo rights. You don't by a sword to become a highway man. You do it because there are already highway men with swords. It's a form of power.

[–] innermachine@lemmy.world 9 points 22 hours ago

I actually know a few "lefties" that thought guns are stupid killing machines and nobody should have them years ago. After the first trump administration they all took an about face and are now pro gun and think we should all be armed. Our government should live in fear of us. They are there to serve and protect us, and we are the ones feeding them to make it possible. Instead they take our money and give socialism to their billionaire buddies corporations or send it to Israel or bomb random countries. We should not live in fear of our authoritarian regime, it's time to turn the tables. Don't tread on our freedom 🇺🇸 and don't tread on sovereign nations because u want their resources. Time the USA pulls itself up from the bootstraps instead of taking from countries that don't have the bloated military budgets to defend themselves.

[–] Zaktor@sopuli.xyz 159 points 1 day ago (17 children)

Not "antifa", anti-fascists. They're just admitting it now.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 26 points 1 day ago

Ignores the one group that literally every reputable study says is the most violent in the US: right-wing extremists...

[–] Zaktor@sopuli.xyz 72 points 1 day ago (3 children)

I also like how the Islamic terrorists are "legacy" as if there's nothing going on right now that could be generating a whole new generation of Anti-American terrorists. It's only some old guys who still hate us for our 2000's freedom.

The political shootings were done by Republicans. So, clearly people against fascism are labeled terrorists. That's pure logic.

And anyone voting Democrat is among them so they’re gonna start rounding people up to put into those detention centers.

[–] Skankhunt420@sh.itjust.works 16 points 1 day ago

I actually looked up when trump won on DDG if an administration could see who you voted for. "No" I was told. Cool.

And now all the States just handed over voter data to the administration.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 42 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They're coming for us. This is the real reason for the camps.

[–] Thebeardedsinglemalt@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What's so disturbing to me is that all the conspiracy theory nutballs I've known, the ones who...

  • are hardcore preppers who said the economy was due to collapse into a post-apocalyptic dystopia anytime a Dem is in the white house

  • kept talking about the FEMA death camps at former railway hubs with barbed wire fences pointing inwards

  • think black helicopters are running urban pacification drills in cities

  • keep being up giant fields being leased by the govt to store nothing but thousands of plastic coffins

  • never shut up about "jackboot" "police states" during the entirety of Obama and Biden terms

They were all either hardcore right-wingers or simple "never trust the govt" types who suddenly started wearing maga hats

They are not necessarily against those things in principle, even within their own country. They just don't want to be the targets of it. Probably some, whether they are being honest with themselves for the reason or not, are wrapping themselves in MAGA for safety, then convincing themselves it's the Good Side by accepting the propaganda.

Which is neither to excuse any other group for accepting propaganda nor to assert Both Sides in any way.

[–] vagrancyand@sh.itjust.works 53 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Good News everyone, I'm now among the major terror groups.

So are 6 billion other people on the planet.

The fascist terrorists are classifying everyone else as terrorists like the little pissbaby fuckfaces they are.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 51 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Yeah, nevermind the actual terrorists that do things like....checks notes....storm the Capitol, beat up police and were seeking to hang members of Congress and the Vice President in an effort to overturn a free and fair election.
