Have you played MK 8 and / or World? Wondering how you compare MK Wii with them.
I played on n64 with friends but only Wii at home
Getting a controller instead of wiimotes is hard!
I picked up Hades on sale a while ago, it sat in my library for a while but now that I actually started playing it I am hooked! I'm already eyeing Hades 2 once I've completed the story of 1.
Nice! How far along are you? And what's your favourite weapon? Also any favourite power combo?
I have all the weapons unlocked and escaped with 1 or 2 heat with some. Favourite would be the shield, least favourite the sword... I just can't get a run to the surface with the sword without dying along the way
Interesting. Shield is something I probably used the least of.
Got hooked into the Tomodachi Life train. It brings the kind of non-involvement and casual play I need right now.
Oooh, how is it?
it has a weird, very japanese sense of humour, but very enjoyable. I don't enjoy making random miis, but the game has a "assisted" mii creastion tool that makes that less of a pain.
You can get very fun dialogues by inserting not-so-random prompts. And you can make things "happen" but also just watch while doing other stuff. I find it so far very enjoyable, and not very repetitive.
I've seen it being compared to The Sims, Animal Crossing or Pokopia. It's much more hands off than the first, and you do barely any interactivity in contrast to AC or Pokopia. Kinda like a movie you make an interaction every once in a while.
Interesting. Thanks for the info!
Bad things: the game does not allow me to share the pictures, or video captures. I understand the reason but not being able to (easily) share funny interactions with my bf is something I definitely don't fancy.
Oh, that's a weird decision. I would think it would work well for a game like this.
It is perfect for a game like this but I guess the freedom you have in prompts that may make your miis say questionable stuff which might work as comedy as in the picture that follows but also may be seen as discrimination when out of context.
It's Rupaul so it's fine
Ah, yeah, Nintendo is usually very careful about user generated stuff.
Tried the Tomodachi Life demo and I found it to be quite entertaining. Will probably get the physical copy in the next few days.
Also got Kirby Air Riders and looking forward to giving it a try.
Finished Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian!
Wonderful game. After the underwhelming Atelier Yumia last year I'm happy to see Gust haven't lost their touch.
This game does a much better job than most entries in this series in balancing between a main story to drive the game and the feel-good, slice-of-life vibes that they are known for. The battle system is great, the alchemy system is great, and I really liked the new cast - in particular the main duo of Rias and Slade.
If they ever make a follow-up to this one my biggest request would be more work on the "store management" part of the game. The one they had here is serviceable, but as a huge fan of Recettear I'd love to see a game that manages to scratch the same itch, and the Atelier series looks like a really good fit for this.
Haven't played anything after finishing Atelier, but will try to get some gaming time in the weekend.
Edit: MTG update, ended up spending most of the weekend giving my old commander decks a big tune-up for the first time in many, many years. Not the biggest fan of this format but playing with the Premodern/Prefire decks I mentioned last week seems to have lit a fire in my playgroup for all types of games, and commander makes for a good change of pace.
Never heard of Recetter before, looks fun though.
What are you starting next?
Recettear is a classic. An upgraded version was supposed to come last year (and I was hoping it would also include a console release) but no news since the original announcement. https://www.gematsu.com/2024/12/recettear-an-item-shops-tale-hd-edition-announced-for-pc
What are you starting next?
No idea. I still have some homework to do sorting MTG stuff (mostly which pricy cards I have for sale now that i finished building decks) and I'm not sure if I'll focus on this or go back to gaming soon.
Ah, hope it's just delayed. Would love to play it if it comes to Switch.
MTG is also gaming, just not the video kind, so have fun!
Looks like we're getting new Super Robot Wars DLC tomorrow.
Now I know what I'll be playing this week.
Edit: English trailer now out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYExXSBornU
Oooh, nice!
