Lol, tangentially I play medic all the time in FPS games. There has been many a player I have rez’d multiple times because they’re stupid. I will absolutely look at them for a second or two and “shake my head” before reviving them the third or fourth time.

I dunno Shadowheart, maybe if you had hit that guy with your attack, I wouldn't be lying here with my guts hanging out.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

My domme plays healer in most games, and yeah it does go like that

You're not allowed to die yet.

[–] Get_Off_My_WLAN@fedia.io 92 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Picture of Shadowheart, looking down on me

You just saved me. You don't need to reward me too.

As someone who frequently plays healers, y’all usually need your lives saved because you’ve done something to deserve that look.

[–] Sabata11792@ani.social 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Your telling me to move out of the fire?

[–] robolemmy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 17 points 2 days ago

No, I’m begging you!

Healsluts was a stupid meme. Healdoms makes so much more sense.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It really does. "Here you go you dipshit front liner"

[–] RickyRigatoni@piefed.zip 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

"There are four other team members who could use my heals. Beg for it."

That's TF2s medic in a nutshell. The number of randos who thing they can boss you around when you hold their life in your hands was hilarious. Turns out near everyone wants your help so you don't have to put up with that random DPS who thinks they are king shit and get to dictate the fun for two people instead of one.

My favorite here is when they would ignore your planning in voice chat and demand an uber before leaping into a suicidal death. I would just let them die. Like, no dude, I'm not going to waste my charge on a gambit that will not work because "pew pew I'm cool" is your whole goal. The incessant "MEDIC!!!" spam for the rest of the round was like music to my ears.

Y'all want a medic after that? Go play one.

In love with this new terminology you've gifted me. I'm going to abuse this when I describe my ideal partner.

Those aren't mutually exclusive.

Jester "Salt Bae" LaVorre

Revives you just to bully you

[–] RedFrank24@piefed.social 18 points 2 days ago (1 children)

...I guess that explains why my healer asked if she could mix Oil of Slipperiness with Greater Healing Potion to create Lube of Greater Healing.

Internal bleeding requires internal solutions.

I've played through Baldur's Gate and I know nothing about Shadowheart because I killed her right at the beginning on my only playthrough xD

EDIT: Karlach as well. I killed her immediately so I don't know much about her character.

[–] TheMinions@lemmy.dbzer0.com 24 points 2 days ago (1 children)

She adds a lot! I would highly recommend replaying. She ended up being my favorite companion.

Second only to Mama K.

[–] Bahnd@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Its a Larian game, the fully voice acted cast is too big for one playthrough. DOS2 requires 2 runs to hear everyone. BG3 requires 3 (2 origin characters and 1 durge run).

[–] TheMinions@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 days ago

I agree.

I did one Tav run, want to do a Gale origin, and just got to the Druid Grove with my Durge.

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Intentional or being honorable and not save-scumming?

[–] Anchorxiety@reddthat.com 5 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Intentional. I was roleplaying a slightly evil character and I killed her to take everything she had!

[–] rustydrd@sh.itjust.works 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)
[–] Anchorxiety@reddthat.com 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I was selectively merciful and generous.

[–] teft@piefed.social 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Chaotic neutral murderhobo in other words...

Embrace that dark urge, buddy.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 1 points 18 hours ago

I don't think murder for convenience and self gain is a neutral trait even if you only do it as a sometimes treat

[–] TheMinions@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 days ago

So you roleplayed like a murder hobo? I mean, valid.

I would try another go round myself, just to see what I missed!

I missed a whole swathe in the underdark section of Act 1 during my first playthrough.

[–] CaptPretentious@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I've done that once. Was playing as Bae'zel and Shadowheart was being racists, so she got what she got. An in person meeting with Lady Shar.

[–] teft@piefed.social 1 points 2 days ago

I do that sometimes if i play as a lolth sworn drow. I skip grabbing her from the pods and then she’s banging on the doors at the ruins. Then if you provoke her by getting closer when she tells you to stop she’ll fight you.

[–] vzqq@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

And good too. She’s an evil whiny bitch. Lae’zel is where it’s at. And Astarion of course.

[–] dansemacabreingalone@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

an evil whiny bitch

I feel personally attacked. Can we avoid splash damage in the future?

[–] vzqq@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Why do you feel personally attacked?

[–] dansemacabreingalone@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Describes me too well. Why do i always have to explain the joke?

When the Cleric is only slightly more morally opposed to allowing you to die than to seeing you go on

[–] teft@piefed.social 14 points 2 days ago

My barbarian is an orc and just too stupid to die.

[–] Grail@multiverse.soulism.net 5 points 2 days ago

I'm playing a Troubadour and I can pump out a lot of recoveries, but only in a limited range. Which is nice, because when we're getting our asses kicked and Leeroy starts hitting the "I need healing" button, I can tell them "I'm not coming to you, I'm running away. You need to come to Me." And then they do. And then we don't tpk!
