This is why I love defending Democrats because it pisses off both siders.

Every president in the USA has supported Israel as long as Israel has been a thing, but none of them before Trump let Israel goad them into start a direct war with Iran.

Impossible to say definitely, but there's no reason to believe Kamala Harris would have either.

Listen.

It is the dem establishment's job to get people out to vote. They did an abysmal job. With not just running Joe Biden first and then switching to Harris last minute, but also largely refusing to engage with media. They had a shit fucking campaign. And yes, voters have some responsibility, but you can not deny outright the fact that many people just didn't show up to vote. Because the Dems did a shit job.

Also, she is more of the same. Not saying Trump isn't, but there is a deep fucking need for real change and she wasn't it. And yes, a lot of people who are anti genocide will refuse to support anyone who is Pro genocide, like Harris. If you're putting blame on anyone, let it be the absolutely dogshit cowardly DNC leadership

It is not dem establishment job or fault. Stop this farse. There is tons of people today that votes for the GOP despite the voter suppression, the genocide, sex trafficking of minors and systemic destruction of the constitution of the US. There has never been a clearer case for voting anything but the GOP. The voters are evil idiots.

This take allows this to keep happening time and time and time again, while the dems wallow in self-pity and hysterical funding drives to take more money from people for doing evil things.

[–] encelado748@feddit.org 1 points 3 minutes ago

And nothing will change if we do not recognize that a perfect dem campaign will do nothing to fix years of Fox News indoctrinated fascists.

So if this is why the Democrat candidate failed then the next candidate they put up won't support Israel since the Democrats will learn from their mistakes? I would like that, but I don't think it will happen. I think the new candidate will be the same as the old candidate and the Dem's will have learned nothing. Pro-business, pro-Israel, soft on regulations, soft on Republican lawbreaking, and corrupt as hell.

No one said this. It’s a strawman.

[–] Wataba@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 hour ago

Plenty of people said this.

Many are still saying this.

[–] theacharnian@lemmy.ca 12 points 5 hours ago

And so, to avoid this from happening again, next time the Democrats are going to propose a candidate that doesn't have that weak spot, right? RIGHT?

[–] king_comrade@lemmy.world 0 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Why are libs so determined to make Americans accept their dog shit platform? I hate it so much, stop guilt tripping non voters for wanting out of your fucked dystopic shit hole political system. It's not the non voters fault any of this is happening.

[–] Wataba@sh.itjust.works -1 points 59 minutes ago (1 children)

Spoken like Putin's footstool.

If you're going to hide on a .world account, don't give the game away with a shitty tankie username.

[–] king_comrade@lemmy.world 1 points 41 minutes ago

My username is an obvious oxymoron mate... Come on now.

[–] magnue@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Her campaign was weak though. Does anyone remember her campaign message? I don't.

Trump = maga Obama = hope, change

[–] Snazz@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago)

I believe it was “We’re not going back”. I remember because it was a pretty strong contrast to MAGA.

Biden and Harris's support of Isreal was within reasonable bounds even if you think they should have been more/less heavy handed. Harris was pushing for resolution, more aid, restrictions on munitions and withholding operations until civilians had been evacuated.

Trumps support of isreal was and still is deranged. He was talking about turning gaza to glass, moving them "somewhere else", letting a far right hardliner do whatever he wants.

If you were drawing that equivalent then you must be over the moon because you got exactly what you wanted. The destruction and death of hundreds of thousands of peoples lives.

[–] fodor@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 hour ago

That's not what I remember. I remember essentially watching Biden and Harris push for policies that were essentially allowing the genocide to continue.

If you're running for president and you are pro-genocide, then you deserve to lose. You're just a horrible person who doesn't deserve the job. And if the Democrats can't find someone who's anti-genocide to run for president, then the party has no future and it doesn't deserve one.

[–] DylanMc6@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 6 hours ago

I really wish this country would be a parliamentary country. Seriously!

[–] Jay101@lemmy.world 19 points 9 hours ago (12 children)

Field better candidate next time instead of a genocide accomplice.
