"Yabba dabba doo" is actually a venomously offensive slur, so "fuck" was censored at the last minute to keep the meme just under the swear budget.

Ineffective, unnecessary censorship for engagement baiting is a trend that needs to get un-alived.

[–] lugal@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It doesn't say Fuck but Гuek which is much worse.

[–] trollercoaster@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The bad F word. Much worse than feck.

[–] lugal@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 week ago

Americans when their gas price approaches almost half of what it normally is in Europe:

[–] Spezi@feddit.org 9 points 1 week ago

While driving every meter in cars that use 3 times as much than the average european cars.

[–] FudgyMcTubbs@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Weird flex, bro.

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 1 week ago

relatedly, i'm laughing at people here in sweden complaining about rising gas prices that are still nowhere near what they were just a few years ago

drivers have no fucking short term memory i swear to god, all they're capable of comprehending is "number go up is bad"

A bicycle is more practical

[–] xia@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 days ago

A bicycle can TURN...

[–] Multiplexer@discuss.tchncs.de 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

A bicycle is more practical

But has waayyy less style!

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Then get a double decker bike. Or show off that classic folding bike swag. Nothing cooler than a bicycle that looks ridiculous in order to be able to fit in your apartment

Nothing cooler than a bicycle that looks ridiculous

l experienced that feeling for a while about 15 years ago, riding one of the then very rare 29" drop bar mountain bikes.
Looked like a legit frankenbike.

People turned their heads and started asking me about it out of the blue at predestrian crossings or so (a very unusual behaviour here in Germany).

With the somewhat similar looking gravelbikes becoming a thing during the recent years, the bike doesn't stand out that much anymore, so situation is more relaxed now.
Although I miss the extra attention a tiny bit...

ITT: people falling for engagement bait

[–] NarrativeBear@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Basic marketing 101, if you can get people to talk about your product, you have succeeded.

There was a marketing campaigns for mittens versus gloves a while back, but the marketing team "mixed up" the terms (on purpose). This got everyone talking and debating.

The more recent one is the Big Arch burger.

[–] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I must be winning at marketing avoidance, because I have no idea what you're talking about in either case.

[–] NarrativeBear@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

You sir are the roll model I strive to be

[–] bequirtle@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

ITT people not realizing these censored posts are probably a repost from somewhere else and OP has nothing to do with it

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I realize it. Even more of a reason to complain. Stop polluting the un-enshittified internet with shit.

I'm wondering if a single person somehow made it to Lemmy without understanding most posts are reposts. Very doubtful.

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 1 week ago

fuck, OP is such a genius, they're gonna make so much money from all this fediverse engagement!

[–] Proprietary_Blend@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

You can clearly see that Trump's name is redacted here

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

At least it doesn’t lock you in when it catches on fire or get bricked when you try to get your kids over the boarder to avoid getting drafted into the pedofile holy war

[–] Eyekaytee@aussie.zone 2 points 1 week ago (3 children)

this would have been a great meme prior to the invention of electric vehicles

[–] dan@upvote.au 3 points 1 week ago

EVs and solar panels have really changed things for the better.

Judging by the barely-double-digit pixel count of the photo, it probably was.

[–] Multiplexer@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 1 week ago

Electric vehicles are probably much older than you assume.

They came up in parallel to the gasoline cars in the late 1800s and were surprisingly common during the early 1900s.
