General off-topic chat for the crew of startrek.website. Trek-adjacent discussions, other sci-fi television, navigating the Fediverse, server meta (within reason), selling expired cases of Yamok sauce, it’s all fair game.

MODERATORS

The admins of StarTrek.website have graciously responded to my request to host a Monsterverse community on Lemmy.

The great Togo franchise now has a home on the fediverse where we can share news and views.

Whether you’re a longtime fan, a newcomer or just Monsterverse-curious, please feel welcome to join in.

As with c/DrWho, it’s intended to provide a home for another popular SciFi franchise that hasn’t had one on the fediverse up to now.

Yeah, you're good.

I was making a crossover joke.

Also, Crossover posts aren’t unprecedented.

I already started watching Doctor Who, does this mean I'll need to add on a third franchise? Honestly this is getting in the way of me going through the entire Star Trek franchise for the 47th time.

Well, you might want to put priority on achieving the Star Trek franchise’s favourite prime number in rewatches before the end of the 60th anniversary year is done.

The Toho Godzilla Monsterverse as the older franchise of the three can be patient in waiting for you to discover its awesomeness.

But if you’re game to give it a try, AppleTV’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is a successful entry point that introduces you to the lore without giving everything away.

Thanks for welcoming me and my proposal!
