I catch myself going on socialist rants at the slightest provocation these days so I'm thinking maybe Scully is wrong here

Wealth is an abstract. What is a corporation price? You do one media statement and the price plummets. The "means of production" surely cost some, but if it crumbles and you just sell whatever you can, it would be a tiny fracture of what "the company" was "worth" before.

The most wealthiest people don't just sit on cash, they run businesses. One of the reasons why you can't just eat the rich (even if you have the power), it's just not effective. You'll get scraps by killing the whole industries.

What you can do is tax the "rich" with progressive taxes, where the "rich" is an upper working class, and maybe lower middle class. Its never about the wealthiest.

Left/Right politics is a clown fiesta. We need some fresh ideas, cause these surely don't work.

Some of the guys I work with, defend the oligarchs. You see, my coworkers are temporarily inconvenienced millionaires. They explained that the billionaires earned their money (not through the exploitation of millions of people), therefore they should not have their wealth taxed in a fair manner.

Oh, and also, if you work at McDonalds, you deserve to struggle to make rent. My coworkers had to do it, therefore everyone else should have to do it as well. After all, if you want a better job, just go find a better one? If you don’t have the ability to go back to school, that’s on you. If you are unable to pay rent, you deserve to become homeless. What the hell happened to personal accountability? I’m sorry, I thought this was America.

I can’t deal with their ignorant, racist, views anymore. Their inability to empathize hurts my soul. Everything is money to them. When I mention that we are talking about people, they say “Well who’s going to pay for that? Not me!”.

These type of wealth disparities existing before capitalism. In ancient grand societies the wealth was controlled by a small elite almost always and class mobility was non-existent.

The issue isn't capitalism, it's just that the history of our specifies across various society tends to ebb and flow in various directions in response to historical events and contexts. Go read Piketty's work on this.
