Not a phone in sight, just living in the moment.
hmmm
For things that are "hmmm".
Rule 1: All post titles except for meta posts should be just plain "hmmm" and nothing else, no emotes, no capitalisation, no extending it to "hmmmm" etc.

What i3 users think they look like.
All I see is blonde, brunette, redhead…
I guess I'm rewatching Grandma's Boy again today.
"Nothing on my end, thank you"
I exhaled through my nose.
How tf do you get in and out of that contraption? Or maybe you just... Don't.
Could be interesting to watch when the fire alarm goes off.
"I think I'll die comfortable."
It doesn't have a built-in toilet, so I think you eventually have to get up.

this is my preference thanks.
That's AI, isn't it?
I would assume so considering the guy only has one foot and the keyboard keys are just some vaguely square gibberish
i believe so, but a man can dream
Unfortunately you have committed the mortal sin of enjoying the tainted work of the Thinking Machines and must now be burned at the stake, sorry
Nah, the sin is posting it without a trigger warning.
Indeed, brother. It is heresy of the highest order.
All praise the omnissiah.
Who needs VR headsets when you can just cover your whole body in screens?
News@11: a 32 year old man died today after rescuers where unable to free him from the collapse of his advanced home office monitor configuration. His last words were: delete my browser history, I can't reach my mouse...
Tch, didn't even have a deadman switch, amateur.
So, I've been crippled for a while, and have the poor mans version of this:
[] (==) ||
[] Wall
(==) Bed
|| Computer Desk
Got a bunch of surgery recovery pillows to prop me into an inclined position, Computer Desk just has a TV on it, got a wireless keyboard, wireless mouse, and i have a folded up sheet with an ergo mouse pad.
... most people can probably pull something like this off, with a $50 - $100 set of differently arangeable surgery pillows, and I guess a wireless (i suggest 2.4 ghz) mouse and keyboard.
Resolution on the TV ain't great, but I've only got a Steam Deck, so.... beyond 1920 x 1080 is generally a bad idea anyway.
I barely know what to do with my second monitor. It spends 90% of its time displaying a background picture and some desklets. I really only use it when I'm writing to have a browser and notes open for reference.
As a developer, I find the great bang for buck is two monitors, with minor benefits for each additional monitor. Examples of use for extra monitors:
- code on main monitor (or more if I have multiple projects open)
- app I'm working on
- documentation
- Stack Overflow/Search/AI chat
- Team chat/Slack
- infrastructure/performance monitors, logs
- Mandatory reboot notice from the IT department shoved in a corner until I can reboot without losing work
Of course if you have a large monitor you can tile windows instead of having N screens. Virtual desktop also exist.
Common other uses for multiple monitors:
Usually your main monitor is in landscape mode, so a monitor in portrait mode can be used to view material that works better in portrait. I use one to read manga. Yes, you can also do two pages side by side in landscape, but I prefer it larger, especially with manga which often has tiny details that are interesting.
If you are using full screen mode on your main monitor, then you can have other information on your other monitors. Lots of people play games and have their voice chat apps on other monitors so they don't need to overlay them on the game. Or you can have notes open or something.
Lots of people like things in the background like tv shows or livestreams or podcasts. I find that distracting, so I don't do it, but a lot of people do.
Sometimes, depending on your profession or hobbies, it's good to have certain notes always visible, when they would normally get hidden behind other windows on your primary monitor.
Say what you will but VR headsets have become much smaller since this photo was taken.
Knowing how insanely heavy my 49" screen is, I'd not be able to lie down comfortably like that. They're screwed if that monitor arm decides enough is enough.
It's called Altwork
They want US$7,000 for a chair and some monitor support arms? I want to try one, but not that much.
Don't wait until the last second to get up to pee.

Ah yes, the goonopticon
probably room for one or two more
LCD tanning booth?
Text meme because I'm lazy
Look what they need to mimic a fraction of our power
Pic of me laying on the couch with my laptop
The only problem I see here is a severe lack of cable management. That shit is borderline offensive to me, lmao
New anxiety: monitor falls onto your face.
How did you get this photo of me in my masturbatorium?!
WANT!
When he was 22 years old my niece's grandpa used to have one of these for watching vintage porn. 47 years later and now all he does is sneak boogers in my pocket and call it Mac and Cheese.
Where do you put the jork?
Putting an awful lot of trust in those joints…
That sucker falls, you may well get cut in half..
