Already pre-ordered a while ago! I'm also curious about SailfishOS, and in general I want to support the Linux phone effort.

Afaik SailfishOS is proprietary. The rest of the marketing was extremely vague and not trustworthy to me.
Also if the phone doesnt have a headphone jack I am gonna cry
They also use an Android kernel with libhybris, which means they rely on a lot of Android components and are not very independent.
I just wish they would use mainline kernels instead.
Also, their App Support is literally an Android in a container with some proprietary integration parts into the proprietary UI.
Just two things would make it a lot more interesting:
- Mainline kernel
- Fully FOSS
Pretty sure the proprietary UI is the reason there are many more apps for the other phone distros.
I am still considering it. I am a Bit unsure about some app compatibilities and whether I should ditch my currently perfectly running hardware (iPhone).
I hope you’ll leave a review here when you’ve had some time with it. I depend on some accessibility features on my phone so it’s not as easy to transition, but I’m determined to reduce my use of US (or any, really) big tech as much as possible.
Is there a reason why i do not see the comments anymore?
