I could write many reasons but if you can’t immediately see why laying out sheets of plastic over sand and gravel is worse than a lawn i don’t think it’s worth arguing.

Its a whole thing over here. I remember moving into a place with a plastic lawn a few years back. From Spring on the backyard became unusable it was so hot. Ended up ripping it out and laying some real grass so I could have a bbq without bbq'ing myself.
So.. It isn't a joke? Plastic grass lawns are real? Oh, my mistake then. I never saw anything alike and it doesn't make much sense to me, so I assumed that is just some stupid modern kids joke.

It's become such a problem in Perth that local councils are having to take action. Which is a joke all in itself.
