They keep saying unknown liquid, they probably won't say, but as someone who works with explosives i want to know

Yeah, i noticed the way they skirted that information to. I wondered whether its because it wasn't clearly one thing, but maybe some mixture, so they were still working it out.

The other option I thought about was maybe its a household item and they're wary of copycats.

I can't think of anything sane. That is, a high explosive in liquid form, that you'd actually carry around as a weapon, as opposed to set down in an empty field very carefully then run like hell.

"Charged with making or possessing an explosive under suspicious circumstances"... What? Surely this is conspiring to commit a terrorist act?? Throw the book at this guy, this would've made global news had the device actually worked.

I read the cops were pretty sure they were expecting to lay more charges as more evidence was gathered.

I am impressed at the officer's calm, concise and excellent word choice. I would have expected something more like:

"MOVE you fucking cunts, unless you want your fucking head blown off! Fucken dumb cunts! What are you waiting for? Get the fuck outta here! Jesus fucken Christ! MOVE! NOW! MOVE! MOVE! MOVE! Dumb motherfuckers!"
