Projecting his own insecurities on plaques under photos of past presidents.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

I'm waiting for him to start gold-plating and framing his own tweets.

Trump is clearly suffering from BDS and ODS.

Only a few centimeters and we could've been spared all of this 🥲

It was a setup, he didn't even have a scar, no bullet was even close to him.

[–] leya@mander.xyz 2 points 1 day ago

Not gonna deny that this could be totally possible. Trump seems exactly like the guy capable of doing something this disgusting...

America collectively peaked in high school

The eating of trumps ass by his maga moron is out of control. They named renamed the Kennedy center. Who memoralizes themselves while living? Dictators. Only Dictators do this shit. My family is lost to his nonsense. There isnt a single free thinking person in my family anymore. Dad mom, brother all lost to his bs. Wake up America, im begging you, before he takes all your rights away

[–] Skrufimonki@lemmynsfw.com 26 points 2 days ago

This is what professionalism is these days. The good thing is that they are open about their views and it's easier to identity what type of person they are.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 29 points 2 days ago

Petty, childish, juvenile, mean, pathetic.

The equivalent of drawing a mustache on someone whom you dislike on their yearbook photo and expecting everyone to laugh at your work, too.

[–] sunbytes@lemmy.world 43 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Epstein deadline is tomorrow, right?

Gotta throw everything at the wall and see what sticks.

Misdirect, misdirect, misdirect

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

i think mike johnson dismissed the house to prevent that currently.

[–] sunbytes@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Oh damn I missed that. Just saw it in the news! What a gross man.

[–] CmdrShepard49@sh.itjust.works 18 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Only on paper. In reality, the authors of the bill wrote that Trump and Bondi get to decide what to release and can withhold as much of the documents as they want under the guise of "national security." It was just more kayfabe.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

The trove has been leaking like a sieve over the last few months. I'm not sure what else people are expecting to see at this point.

There's this bizarre insistence that one more big scandal will be the final straw. And we've been playing this game since Hillary released "Grab'em by the pussy".

[–] FatVegan@leminal.space 3 points 1 day ago

He truly is the embodiment of America

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 64 points 2 days ago

This is childish and petty.

I am so fucking embarrassed to live in the USA.

And we have all of this because Obama made fun of Trump at some big presser, makes you think, right?

Before that, Trump was a Democrat, mocking Republicans, playing golf with Bill, and endorsing Hillary for senate.

Just imagine who the bankers have selected as our future candidates! Remember when the Bush presidency was the worst ever?

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 16 points 2 days ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

He did get roasted, and it didn't help, but don't kid yourself that it was the catalyst, he flipped a couple years before that happened. I read that same story, and it was just an fluff piece for the media.

https://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/donald-trump-was-once-a-registered-democrat-and-party-donor-why-did-he-jump-ship/wj85mj5yq

He's changed affiliations 5 times now

Before he ran, his investments were petering out. He owed a substantial amount of money to multiple places. (notably a couple of billion to Deutsche Bank) His contributions to whatever party he was sucking up to were in the couple of thousand-dollar range.

He registered Republican near the end of Reagan's run. He flipped to Independent in the middle of Clinton's presidency. He switched to the Democrats when Bush took office. He flipped to republican the year Obama got in, even though the ~~roast~~ switch* was two years before the roast in question.

The Republicans knew that once Obama got in, they could weaponize race and he turned out to be the face they were looking for to empower the right extremists and moderates.

[–] Son_of_Macha@lemmy.cafe 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That's bollocks though, Trump was washing money for Russian billionaires through most of the 90s. Putin put him where he is.

And we have all of this because Obama made fun of Trump at some big presser, makes you think, right?

Well, we had it because Hillary positioned Trump as a cat's paw within the Republican Primary, hoping he'd be able to soften up Jeb and Cruz in the primary, while she finished them off at the general election.

Before that, Trump was a Democrat, mocking Republicans, playing golf with Bill, and endorsing Hillary for senate.

Can't forget how many Democrats showed up in the Epstein emails, texts, and flight logs. Dude was giving Larry Summers "how to cheat on your wife" advice.

Just imagine who the bankers have selected as our future candidates!

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

trump has been a known racist against blacks, like FATHER LIKE SON, he got it from fred trump. and he also dint like black people in his reality show too.

[–] BanMe@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

Trump knew he needed an enemy if he wanted his populism to take hold, Obama was the obvious choice, it wasn't really anything Obama did. That he's black is just icing on the cake, let him spin populism and racism together into one tapestry of bullshit.

Democrats if they ever get the white house again: "Well, we better keep the plaques. We don't want to upset them."

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “The plaques are eloquently written descriptions of each President and the legacy they left behind. As a student of history, many were written directly by the President himself.”

Lmao

When the orange turd dies or otherwise is out of office, we should just remove his plaque entirely and pretend like he never even existed.

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 days ago (5 children)

Damnatio Memoriae as the Romans called, the removal of a person not just from life but also memory. Though I say we keep his actions and consequences recorded, just remove his personhood and likeness. Every picture and video of him should just be mess of static and fucked but understandable audio. Things not related to his presidency should be destroyed in their entirety.

[–] Zink@programming.dev 4 points 1 day ago

That sounds pretty difficult to do in the modern world.

In contrast, I like the idea that before he croaks he could know that his name will be cursed and his grave pissed upon for generations.

What kind of fucking fanfiction is this whole thing. Satire truly is dead.

Also

California Governor Gavin Newsom, no stranger to mocking Trump online, slammed the stunt.

Stop "slamming" and similar terms because they fucking mean nothing

I re-listened to We didn't start the fire (the bad fall out boys version). Still don't like it, but it has the line 'trump gets impeached twice'. Would be funny if the song became popular again

We have people with the mentality of spoiled school children leading the country.

This has the potential to be very very funny.

I think it should be taken as a precedent, and every successive administration should start writing bitchy little propaganda plaques. Instead of a photo of Trump, we could have like an old moldy orange. Or we could have photos of sad war orphans for other presidents, some scathing political commentary, it could be great. Not at all disrespectful to hang on the wall, this seems fine. Let’s goooo!

How, and I'm serious here, how can this thing get voted in? And how did it happen twice?

You'd have to be fucking moronic to the point of being a dribbling idiot to even think that this orange thing was not just a huge piece of unusable scum!!

When I read shit like this I think of Trump tearing down the East Wing. He didn't do this personally. Multiple people had to agree and execute.

For example; I managed a reprographics shop. We would have flat refused to make signage such as these plaques. Not because management was woke, we simply wouldn't handle toxic messaging. Somewhere in DC is a shop that said, "Fuck it, the money matters more than morals." Same for the demolition company.

Social media and media aggregation has promoted trolls into places where they're stuck sucking their own dicks to shock people, while also being incompetent leaders and managers.
