  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

Our country lost it fucking mind electing this fucker. I am sick to my core and I have no idea what to do anymore.

[–] bagsy@lemmy.world 1 points 49 minutes ago

You have to fight them at every step. Keep the pressure on, boycott as much as possible, be vocal.

Never rest, never give them an inch, fight them at every turn.

Bannon said it outloud, if republicans loose 2026 they know they are all going to jail. Its our job to keep the pressure on, force mistakes, do not let them catch their breath.

"seditious behavior"

Like inciting a violent insurrection after you lose an election?

[–] bagsy@lemmy.world 2 points 41 minutes ago

Like paying $3 million dollars to bus in rioters to your coup after losing an election?

[–] Mcdolan@lemmy.world 16 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

The fuck is this shit?

Probably a waste of time, but get another impeachment going. Let the Republican party go on record saying fuck the constitution and the oath our armed forces make.

For us, blast his words everywhere and change some minds. Shit'll get ugly.

Impeachment starts in the House and the House is controlled by Mike Johnson. He'll never bring it to a vote.

Only way it stands a chance is to flip the House and flip 13 Senate seats in 2026 for a 60 vote majority.

33 Senators are up for re-election, out of that, 20 Republican seats, so if the No Kings movement organizes, it is possible.

They can force vote without the speaker

Will having another nationwide parade every four months do?

[–] AniZaeger@lemmy.world 4 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

At this point, we should be doing it every 4 days, if not more. It's about time the American People shut down the nation until the control of it is returned to the people. If there was ever a reason for a nationwide general strike, this seems like a good one.

That's just not logistically realistic. Less frequent protests give time to gather broader support. If we had protests every 4 days, they'd be tiny, making it look like people don't actually care.

As for a general strike, that requires a massive amount of resources and organization. It's still something we should do, but it's silly to pretend we can just do it at the drop of a hat. Make the effort to organize.

If it gets people to vote, yes.

[–] BanMe@lemmy.world 4 points 2 hours ago

He just got forced into signing a bill that will release salacious info on him, time for a media circus to get our attention elsewhere.

I call for Trump to face trial for pretty much everything he's ever done

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 hours ago

"Guilty on all counts! Okay, add 'em, to the pile and go back to having no consequences whatsoever!"

[–] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 29 points 4 hours ago

Says man who should have faced trial for seditions behavior.

Always projection. Fuck Garland

A lopsided lumbering lardass like Trump has absolutely no business whatsoever calling anybody else "piggy".

[–] winkly@lemmy.world 16 points 4 hours ago

“Quiet, piggy.” Is going to be my new response to anything drumpf says from now on.

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 40 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

He had so much success prosecuting James Comey. Why not double down and try to pick off a few Congresscritters, too?

Sens. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) and Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), as well as Reps. Jason Crow (D-Colo.), Chrissy Houlahan (D-Penn.), Maggie Goodlander (D-N.H.) and Chris Deluzio (D-Penn.) were featured in the Tuesday video. They are all either military veterans or worked in national security-focused roles before taking office.

Regime Change not so fun when the calls are coming from inside the house, huh?

[–] gAlienLifeform@lemmy.world 4 points 4 hours ago

I wonder if Slotkin Kelly and Goodlander have realized yet that voting to give more powers to ICE to detain people was a stupid thing to do
