As Bezos demonstrated, if the pics are exposed, you have no power over the people in the pics.
Same reason why, if someone blackmails you with a pic or vid, just let them release it. They likely won't. But who cares. If my friends and family see a webcam vid of me furiously masturbating, that's probably more damaging to them, than me. I'd just own it.
