"Transportation using lightweight vehicles such as bicycles or scooters, especially electric ones that may be borrowed as part of a self-service rental program in which people rent vehicles for short-term use within a town or city.

It's a little sad that we need to actually say this, but:

Don't be an asshole or you will be permanently banned.

Respectful debate is totally OK, criticizing a product is fine, but being verbally abusive will not be tolerated.

Focus on discussing the idea, not attacking the person.

“(I) thought Trump would save the day but in fact our tariffs on our parts went up from 25% to 55% and more,” he said in an email. “KILLED us as well as financing charges and other factors — but competitors are skirting tariffs through other countries — under invoicing and selling direct and often below costs without legitimate certifications, safety standards, etc.”

lol. It's unfortunate the US government doesn't take ebikes and micromobility in general seriously though. I wonder if bikes will ever break the perception of being toys in most people's minds.

In cities I think it's starting. People are noticing that bikes are zipping past them while they're stuck in traffic, and I'm starting to notice the "one more lane bro" attitude is starting to die out. Usually older folks still believe it in my experience, but millennials and younger have been pretty clear to me that they know more lanes won't fix it.

Outside of cities though in rural America, no, they will be seen as toys and ironically, wastes of space

This is horrible and it is happening to hundreds of thousands of small businesses right now. Big business can absorb tariffs. Mom and pop places, small manufacturers, importers, tradesmen, local restaurants, etc. can't absorb them.

You can't always raise your price if the market won't bear it. It not only forces all these small business ventures to fold it also creates an atmosphere were people are less likely start new businesses.
