Rules:

  1. No sympathy with the enemy or its collaborators. Russian and North Korean soldiers are fascists committing a genocide. Remember that.

  2. Objective and factual reporting from the battlefield, parliaments, etc. is encouraged, even if it's about bad news for Ukraine.

  3. Insulting Putin and his cronies (Orban, Trump, Musk,...) is absolutely fine but don't use homophobic or similar language against them. Members of the queer community don't deserve to be compared to that scum. Also: Putin disciminates against gay people. If you do as well, you're part of the problem.

  4. Don't insult or use overly harsh language against other commentators.

  5. Don't submit direct links to Twitter/X and Truth Social posts. You may: Post a screenshot + quote, do a full quote and name the author, direct link to a proxy service like xcancel.com, deep link an image embedded in a tweet because Lemmy will cache a copy.

  6. Don't just complain about paywalls. If you encounter one, be a sport and link to an archived version instead. Use Firefox + uBlock Origin with the annoyances filters enabled and https://filterlists.com/lists/bypass-paywalls-clean-filter to avoid encountering many in the first place.

How many of these fuckers are wholly owned subsidiaries of Russia?

[–] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 48 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Wholly I don't know, but many to the extent necessary to fuck us up

[–] mgnome@piefed.social 30 points 2 months ago (3 children)

What's funny, in a morbid way, is that many of these tools don't even realize Russians helped their uplifting not because they like them, but because they see their potential for polarizing Western society and driving it into conflict with itself.

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 16 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It's still crazy to me that nothing came from the Mueller report. Trump's campaign was being driven by the Russians because him being president would harm America.

And his supporters didn't see anything wrong with that.

I'm sure a great majority are more morally inept than twisted and unethical. One wishes only that our politicians did not for so long refuse the evidence of their senses with regard to Russia. Even Obama and Clinton thought the Kremlin would come around to their way of doing things in time.

[–] mgnome@piefed.social 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Well. 2019 Zelensky believed he could look Putin in the eyes and make him stop the killing in Donbass. 🌚

But also... That Western idea from 90's that authoritarian regimes will democratize upon being introduced to free market is making me wanna cry.

A whole bunch were uncovered to have been paid by Putin's Russia to spout these pro Russian talking points (hello Tim pool, feeling nervous yet?) and when uncovered they all acted like the innocent child who just got caught with their hands in the cookie jar

It's so funny to see that the exact same extremist US Americans that would kill you for just using the word "Russia" twenty years ago are the same ones that can't wait to suck Putin's dick. These people are so dumb that they don't even know they're dumb

Wow, the hatred for a man simply defending his country from a violent invasion. These people are either complicit, or mind-bendingly stupid...

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 66 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Not necessarily, they might be complicit and mind-bendingly stupid.

Why not both?

[–] shplane@lemmy.world 88 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Funny how many posts I see of this guy being an utter cesspool but when I go on conservative media, I see literally ZERO examples of him saying anything they feel is worth praising. It’s almost as if everything out of his mouth was vitriolic garbage and they know it.

[–] vga@sopuli.xyz 17 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Almost as if one side posts only good things and the other only bad things

[–] Soup@lemmy.world 13 points 2 months ago (2 children)

And, going by the comment you replied to, even the conservatives know that there aren’t any good things to post.

[–] NewNewAccount@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

They think even this post is a good post.

The voters one on side operate purely on feelings and tribalism alone, not logic or reason

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 84 points 2 months ago (1 children)

One of those guys is a living legend.

[–] JoeBigelow@lemmy.ca 63 points 2 months ago (2 children)

And one of them is a dead fascist!

[–] smeenz@lemmy.nz 16 points 2 months ago

The best kind.

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

recently upgraded to one of the good ones

Posting screenshots of his tweets is disrespectful to his memory.

I hope Kirk knew that he was dying.

[–] JoeBigelow@lemmy.ca 41 points 2 months ago (3 children)

Likewise, but unfortunately I'm pretty sure based on the video that the sudden overpressure, then pressure loss, of blood, caused him to immediately black out and probably have no conscious experience after blaming gun violence on trans people and gangs.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 12 points 2 months ago

as someone who has experienced sudden loss of blood pressure to the brain, you go grey then black very quickly. i was pumping my thighs to keep going (because i knew what was happening) and got an extra ten seconds of grey, don't remember anything after that. so... maybe he did?

He knew, but not for long. I'm just sad her never knew it was a right-winger that did it

[–] Natanael@infosec.pub 9 points 2 months ago

He should've lived longer. By a few hours.

I've got nothing to say about the other guy, I'm just going to celebrate that Zelenskyy and Ukraine are still going strong!

In all fairness, that is the Christian way.

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 19 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Holy fuck.

*Also, he doesn't know the difference between dead and casualty. Casualty is anyone dead or injured such that they can't fight. Militaries report casualties because they want numbers of those that can/can't fight.

Given that Kirk got got by an even farther to the right Groyper, you have to start questioning the Two Sides narrative.

Almost as though politics is a spectrum - a fabric, even - and one's relative distance to one's peers can have little to do with one's desire to ventilate your peer's breathing tubes.

and here's my mom thinking we're borderline celebrating his death because he's Christian

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 8 points 2 months ago (1 children)

You could try sending her these things

Maybe with a "oh, is this what Christians believe?"

He was the kind of delusional shit-fucker who thought there's a heaven and that he was going there. If he happens to be right about the former then he's definitely wrong about the latter.

He was an attack dog, like almost all right wing internet pundits. This is what he was paid by the billionaires to do. If his taskmasters told him the new orders were to attack Zelenskyy, then by god that was what he did. I seriously doubt he ever had an original thought. Well, his racism was extra extra, I think that part he did for free.
