Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

I've always associated cracker barrel with "angry old white people who think black pepper is spicy" and their meaner variant, the post-church crowd. so... not particularly surprised?
Yeah, I’m more surprised they had any sort of DEI language to begin with (of course it was clearly just pandering, so).

Lol, I went to some chain and got the chicken Alfredo, the guy warns me it's a bit spicy. I tell him no worries, bring it on. The thing has like 6 flakes of red pepper on it. I figured he had to warn me bc some Karen complained.
More like a place near highway exits where you can get sit down service. That is really what their market is.

I loathe Cracker Barrel.
Why? I'm a Southerner that knows Southern food, knows what a good, family resturant is, or in some town's cases, was, and I blame them for the systematic deletion of small family restaurants across the South.
Make the food good enough and intice people with fake antiques and candy and you too can run everyone out of business with tacky crap in place of anything anyone would consider soul.
Ugh, fuck them. So tacky, fake and greedy. I feel wrong being in one, like oil and water.
I grew up in a city where anybody who is darker than a pencil avoided the hell out of Cracker Barrel. Not just because of the racist clientele, but also because the food sucked.

Hey guys, people didn't like the logo change. Maybe we try to get MAGA people in here?
Pretty sure the MAGA crowd was always their biggest user base. This smells more like ‘maybe if we double down, they’ll forget about the logo and come in more’.
I still find it hilarious that people think the logo change was "woke".
What do words even mean any more?

I demand political purity from my breakfast place.
They could simply have done nothing and no one would be asking them for anything, but now they decided to kneel to bigots.
Anyone who has ever worked in a kitchen or as a server knows that they are wall-to-wall queer-friendly. If Cracker Barrel has trouble now keeping things staffed (they will), this is why.
Kitchen people are often woke af because they have had to be to survive.
Just watch me as I continue to never go to a cracker barrel ever in my life because of how fucking irrelevant they are. I don't even know where the nearest one to me would be.

Look around a lot of businesses are grasping at straws. They are offering specials and discounts galore, unless it is beef, produce, electronics or foreign imports. The logo change was a cry of desperation. Unfortunately they will lose business no matter what now.
The logo change was just an innocuous act of corporate blandness to simplify it. Then people freaked out because somehow a guy leaning on a barrel deeply touched them.
