Who could stand up to an Ancient Psychic Tandem War Elephant? No one, that’s who.

Oh, I know. I learned to stop the self-criticism a long time ago and it really helps.

I am now on the offensive, I am a perfectly cromulent individual and have no trouble asserting my perfectly reasonable boundaries. It meant a huge shakeup of my social circle, as people do not usually allow others to change and grow once they have put you in a box.

Now though, I have found a circle of friends that don’t unwittingly ’neg’ me all the time.

I recently got into some scientific literature that explains a lot of my personal experience. Somatic anxiety (the anxiety symptoms one feels in the body) is common in people who have trouble with interoception (sensing internal body states).

My anxiety has become so much more manageable since I started a yoga teacher training. Yoga (the physical poses, hatha yoga, technically) and pranayama (the breathing exercises) have always helped, but the intense and focused practice has really made a huge difference.

I see anxiety now as a clear signal I am neglecting some aspect of self-care and I’ll be damned if it isn’t helping quite a lot. Instead of ‘episodes’ lasting days or weeks without end, anxious symptoms come and go throughout the day, and stuff is just a lot easier to handle.

I am so grateful and it is clear now how unrelenting anxiety can degrade overall health.

Shout out to Philo T Farnsworth!

He grew up in Idaho and the small town he hailed from had a sign calling themselves the ‘Birthplace of TV’. That sign was frequently vandalized to read ‘Birthplace of VD’.

Both statements have some validity.

I suppose what I am railing against is the fait accompli of it all. Meaning the idea that the way we do things now is the best possible way.

It isn’t and the best way to get my dander up is to hand-wave away concerns, as if the problem is solved and we can’t question it any more. This is why people hate the tech-bro archetype.

And even more maddening is the attitude that these ‘features’ are for users benefit.

The TV series Silicon Valley and their Pied Piper product seems so much less funny now that Peter Thiel has unmasked himself as a wannabe anti-christ. (PTs response to this accusation? ‘no u’)

Oh, not at random. There’s an algorithm, but you can’t know what it is, because reasons.

Ms Piggy was not exactly a ‘beard’ in the relationship, let’s just call it ‘complicated’. Kermit was clearly roomates with Fozzie. Sometimes they would all get Sweetums tipsy at the pool and things would get real fuzzy.

I hate how people have to get a diagnosis in order to get any slack for not being exactly like everyone else. Screw you people, this is who I am. Turn the damn light off.

This is not checks and balances. Get those words out yo mouth. This is a fascist takeover and it is clearly illegal.

A handheld slingshot has 1/2 the velocity of a .22 load and the projectile is about 10x the mass of a .22 bullet. Short range accuracy is very high with a small amount of practice.

This is an irrelevant statement.

This guy fucks!

The list of words is from what the article describes as the ’center-left’ Third Way think-tank. Har har.
