Geography is just physics slowed down, with a couple of trees stuck in it. - Terry Pratchett

Notice Board
Geography is the study of places and the relationships between people and their environments. Geographers explore both the physical properties of Earth’s surface and the human societies spread across it. They also examine how human culture interacts with the natural environment and the way that locations and places can have an impact on people. Geography seeks to understand where things are found, why they are there, and how they develop and change over time. Read more...

Don’t tell ‘em about I-45
Does the number assigned to the road matter that much?
I mean, there is an organization to it. Odd numbers go north-south, evens go east-west, numbers go higher as you go north and east, and major ones are numbers divisible by 5. The system is honestly pretty good at keeping with that ovrall, and I could think of a few better ideas than that
Yes I'm aware. Does it matter that much? Especially for a road that seems to go diagonally more than anything?
Would it have killed them to (for example) just call it I-22 from Dallas to Texarkana, then continue I-49 from there? I think the main point of controversy is that this is a very short interstate given a number that would normally be used for a much longer one within the system - for no real reason.
IDK the people or whoever must have wanted there to be an i30 above other trade-offs.
