Here's a fun selection of grievances against King George III from the Declaration of Independence.

The English had already fought a revolution to ensure that their king wasn't above the law a century before the Americans decided to brew some salty tea. What you've got now is worse than what the founding fathers rebelled against.

I view it more as a historical day now that could serve as inspiration to someday return to those ideas.

TBF, buying into that propaganda isn't unlike believing that the Emancipation Proclamation wasn't in fact a thinly-veiled maneuver to legalize slavery via incarceration.

It's all part of growing up — for those Americans who choose to. Which, isn't anywhere near enough of us, evident by where we are today. 🤦🏼‍♂️
