You mean feddit.de, or did .org also get abandoned?

Yeah sorry, it was feddit.de. I just did a quick dive into the rabbit hole. Apparently the admin's username was wintermute (later changed to necromancer). Looks like they modded a bunch of conservative communities around here. Then went on a vacation to a south asian country then disappeared without a trace. Now feddit.org has a rule for all admins to not travel to south asian countries.

Now feddit.org has a rule for all admins to not travel to south asian countries.

I'm so confused how this is the takeaway for whoever is running feddit.org.

Like, did the admin fucking die or something? Or worse, did they start espousing leftist ideals (/s)?

Seriously, what happened to them? I made an account like a year ago or so (during the Reddit API incident). And when I wanted to start over again today feddit.de was down.

They went on extended vacation to DPRK.

You can join feddit.org now.

How can you stand 30 minutes of work?

[–] randomuser38529@lemmy.world 11 points 5 days ago

We don’t know if it was all at once or spread over 3 years.

If you run away to an island after only half an hour of work ... I don't think you'll be spending 30 years there ... you'll be spending the rest of your life there

[–] Jyek@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

That's the plan. Who even has 30 years left anyways?

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 1 points 4 days ago

Even if you have 30 years of life left, I don't think the average person (including me) could survive 30 days in a deserted island. Which means you would spend the rest of your life there.

I wish I had the balls for credit card fraud. I promise I wouldn't buy bullshit yachts or fancy mansions.

[–] wreckedcarzz@lemmy.world 11 points 5 days ago (2 children)

No, no, of course not. Just sensible yachts and mansions.

The most somber and trustworthy yachts and mansions.

Practical austentation is the mark of true class.

To a remote island.

If you disappear on a remote island, you get a Wilson and lose a few teeth, along with most of your marbles.

Can I choose cabin in the woods instead?

[–] Slovene@feddit.nl 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Unless you're a teacher. Then pls don't.

[–] LazyWatermelon3623@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Why aren't teachers allowed to disappear? I imagine being a teacher in today's society seems pretty pointless anyway.

[–] Dasus@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

Almost as pointless as being a soldier in early 1940's France.
