A slur is any insulting or disparaging remark. The r-word used as a way to make fun or tear down any individual is a slur. It hasn't even been used as a medical term for decades now. It doesn't matter the company you keep or if the recipient of said remark is "okay" with it. It's a slur and has been distasteful for a long time.

I'd rather them be a bad person on a leash than a bad person off the leash

Edit: this was not meant as a serious take or anything. Just playing with the anecdote.

I talk like that all the time about my employers. "Somehow I tricked into thinking I know what I'm doing and now I sorta do."

I also wonder why no one loved them. It's clear they didn't get enough love from their parents and family. Their support system is lacking in some fundamental way that they would turn to grifters to feel cared for.

The person who is being called a Nazi, is not being called a Nazi because they said someone else was ugly. They're calling her ugly because she made a comic disparaging Nazi/fascist behavior and their response to said comic was to call her ugly. You have this backwards.

Even if you weren't a Nazi, what on earth about this post makes you feel a need to comment on somebody's appearance.

"You're presenting fascist behavior." "Yeah? Well you're ugly."

Do you see how one of these things is like... Not an opinion? And the response to pointing out problematic behavior is just more problematic behavior?

I'm pretty sure this is wrong. Like obviously it's a bad thing that they are making it harder to distribute apps through 3rd parties but they aren't stopping you from sideloading unsigned apps. They are introducing an additional step to unlock your phone to allow unsigned apps. Yes it is annoying and no I do not agree with what they are doing. But they are not removing unsigned app support from all android devices.

The new step will be deciding how long you wish to allow unsigned apps to be installable on your device (either 7 days or indefinitely) and then it requires you to wait 24 hours before you can start to install apps without Google developer signing.

These rules do suck, and it is a bad thing, but lying or exaggerating what is happening will not make them reverse course. It only justifies them when they say "it's not that bad and it's for your protection."

Shift + f10 for cmd. Then do "start ms-cxh:localonly" and hit enter. Enjoy local user profile without internet.

While the steam hardware survey is opt in, it is still data harvesting lol

I had an idea in a dream where a pressure vessel had a buoyancy valve at the lowest point. The idea was that a ball would sit in a hole and water that may condense inside the vessel would lift the ball allowing the water to drain after which the pressure of the vessel would seal the ball back into place. That made me wonder about the possibility of a pressure based buoyancy valve and whether the physics were there.
