[–] Apocalypteroid@lemmy.world 10 points 6 days ago

[–] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

where do I sign up for his army?

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

speaking of which, he has such a cool name. both first and last.

when people chanted his name before his victory speech it was like a scene from a movie. kudos to Tish James for hyping people up like crazy. played like a transcript:

"They said he doesn't have the right name!"

BOOOO

"Well now they all know his goddamn name!"

crowd erupts, mics explode

MAM-DA-NI! MAM-DA-NI!

"what's his name?"

MAM-DA-NI!

"what's his name?"

MAM-DA-NI!

"what's his name?"

MAM-DA-NI!

... repeat

The party of pre-teen adults is so pissed

[–] HappySkullsplitter@lemmy.world 179 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That's the most badass nickname I've heard in a long time

[–] disguy_ovahea@lemmy.world 36 points 1 week ago

It’s bound to be an even better punk song

[–] cygnus@lemmy.ca 151 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Earning a nickname like that from Fox News would be a crowning achievement for me.

[–] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 32 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I could drink poison with a grin on my face if I'd accomplished that.

[–] TimLovesTech@badatbeing.social 25 points 1 week ago (1 children)

"I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you."

[–] Bane_Killgrind@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 1 week ago

It just occurred to me right now how much of a zinger that line is.

[–] GraniteM@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

I'd seriously consider getting a crown made with THE DESTROYER emblazoned across the front.

[–] WoodScientist@sh.itjust.works 88 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Zohran the Destroyer?

Meet Nandor the Relentless!

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)

[–] SippyCup@feddit.nl 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He's pillaging everyone, fox news included!

[–] zedgeist@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago

Did you mean

Nandor de Laurentiis?

[–] BigBenis@lemmy.world 64 points 1 week ago (3 children)

I can't see this host's stupid face without thinking of that clip where his own mother berates him for being a hack on air for everybody to see

she actually gives good advice, it's not just random complaining. she sounds like a nice person.

Agreed on all counts. His dad and other people who influenced him must have been truly awful for him to have her as a mom and STILL end up like he is..

If ZOHRAN THE DESTROYER actually destroys the GOP, I won't complain. If he needs to stomp the current DEMs into the ground for that, well, that is a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

[–] LemmyFeed@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That's a sacrifice I'm likely to encourage!

Shocking stupidity or malicious compliance? 👀 Let's hope it's the latter, lol.

Edit: oh wait, it's Fox News, it's definitely the former.

[–] Anomalocaris@lemm.ee 11 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

just dumb

when the system is so shitty, you don't get access to quality talent to work for you.

not saying that you can't be evil and creative, just that when you are trying to be that evil, you can't get proper talent

[–] ABetterTomorrow@lemm.ee 35 points 1 week ago

Fuck yeah, we got a destroyer! Destroy all hate and bring peace to the people! Destroy systems that bring struggle to the people! Destroy all suffering!

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 26 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Trump wrecked the Republican Party that turned out great for them. I have been waiting for somebody to wreck this party.

Some adventurous journalist should ask Arnie what he thinks about that nickname.

[–] baratheon@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I like how the Republicans are painting him as a Communist, when they are the ones supporting Communist regimes. From what i heard from him, he's a Democratic socialist, that's pretty much the standard here in Europe. good on NY. If you think about it, not even the Millionaires want to live in the middle of desperate poor people... some has to be given back to society.

On top of that, Mamdani''s policies stimulate the NY economy, because if people have money, they spend more.

Republicans, on the other hand, drive people into poverty, which slows down spending and cripples the economy.

Dude should license some Basil Poledouris theme music. Get some wizardy guy to do a new intro -- maybe ask Bernie for a hand. "Let me tell you of a time of EQUIIITABLE treaatment!!"

Brave Sir Robin ran away,
Bravely ran away, away.
When danger reared its ugly head, he bravely turned his tail and fled.
Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about
And gallantly, he chickened out. Bravely taking to his feet,
He beat a very brave retreat,
Bravest of the brave, Sir Robin.
