more concerning is that he has the mental maturity of a five year old. If CEOs pressing the nuclear missile buttons in the Fallout series seemed like an exaggeration, look at Elon and think again.

Vault Tec starting the war was by far the most realistic part of the story. Even when it was revealed in the games, long before the series, my reaction was "Duh".

According to the games it was China that started the Great War. In the TV series, they hinted at plans of VaulTec to profit off of their vaults with starting off the war with a first strike.

HINTED? They flat out SHOWED it happening!

Yeah I was gonna say... I remember playing that DLC set in Alaska (or like a simulation of the battle that took place in Alaska?) where they talk about China striking first.

That DLC was dope.

Chinese stealth suit baby!

The war was VaulTec's intended plan and they arranged for China to launch the first strike.

Horizon Zero Dawn did a really good study on the ego of a tech billionaire.

What if he is not mentally a 5 year old but people keep letting him do what he wants and he is trying to keep pushing that envelope.

Him acting like a 5 year old and getting away with it is also on society imo.

This is conjecture but don't Teslas record everything around them. Couldn't that be a form of distributed surveillance/botnet or something?

[–] stormeuh@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Even if Tesla itself doesn't do that, it's something to be concerned about in case a vulnerability is found that allows remote access to the camera's (or worse any local video recordings that may exist).

And if he ever tries to screw over the country by threatening US national security or blackmailing over it, I hope the relevant 3 letter agencies come knocking on his door one night, whisking him away to a place nobody will ever see him again.

[–] Maggoty@lemmy.world 9 points 2 years ago

Nah, nationalize his shit right out from under him, draft his executives and explain to them the terms Chain of Command and UCMJ. That's the kind of thing billionaires are actually afraid of.

[–] ryper@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 years ago

He's rich enough to get several warnings before someone maybe considers bringing charges against him.
