I've never seen a more Lunchables face. Brown put your eyebrow down

You know he's been practising that for hours in front of the mirror.

[–] Machinist@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Lunchables! You gotta keep that. Wonder if his Mommy still packs his lunchables and lays out his clothes every morning.

The amount of incompetence in this administration is staggering.

[–] plyth@feddit.org 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Are there other headlines right now that receive less airtime while this appointment is discussed?

[–] Doom@ttrpg.network 2 points 1 day ago

Haha headline, nice burn

[–] isekaihero@ani.social 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They must be planning a false flag and this is the patsy that will take the blame for dropping the ball.

[–] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

As always.
The only real terrorism in the world invariably comes from the US regime or from a US proxy.

[–] Spacehooks@reddthat.com 2 points 1 day ago

I bet we could rng ppl in these comments 10x more capable.

[–] muusemuuse@lemm.ee 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Burn the white house again.

[–] TheDeadlySquid@lemm.ee 8 points 1 day ago

DHS will eat him alive. He is in way over his head and will eventually become a scapegoat. Can’t wait!

Let's not stoop to the level of Republicans who called AOC "a waitress". The issue should be his lack of experience, not the jobs he had in the past. He's only been out of college for a year (BA in politics and law from Univ of Texas) and has little or no experience to qualify him to head anything. He should be doing the same entry level work as any recent graduate. This appointment is just typical Trump incompetence.

[–] RedditIsDeddit@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Lack of experience... jobs in the past... jobs in the past ARE experience.

[–] dil@lemmy.zip 17 points 1 day ago

a 22 year old college grad being in charge of terror prevention is wild lmao it doenst even need to be discussed, there is no good argument in favor of it

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago (1 children)

AOC was a waitress after attending Boston University where she double-majored in international relations and economics.

Fugate (the chose in the picture) attended UT SA until 2024 with no documented majors. no military experience. no counterterrorism training.

he did work as an intern at the Heritage Foundation until his appointment to this current position.

so tell me, why do you feel the need to draw a relationship between Fugate and AOC when they are obviously no where near related?

[–] LovableSidekick@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago

The things you mentioned are completely relevant and are what people should be citing about this guy. The fact that he used to pull weeds is as irrelevant as the fact that AOC used to wait tables. I don't see what's difficult at all to understand about that, or why people have any issues with this simple truth. It's not like criticizing an improper criticism of the bad guys supports the bad guys, I'm supporting legitimate criticism vs silly pettiness.

[–] khannie@lemmy.world 21 points 1 day ago

I fully agree, however I took the previous jobs to be as a highlight of the lack of experience rather than mockery for what it's worth.

Like if the lad had been balls deep in relevant internships or something it would have given more credence.

Certainly no shade here on the jobs he did.

[–] OCATMBBL@lemmy.world 29 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (4 children)

Unilateral appointment to a national security role is way different from a vote to represent a group of people. AOC also had basically no experience outside that of relevant college coursework.

It's not stopping - it's calling out the most blatant of nepotistic appointments in our history (not just this one) for exactly the reasons you're listing above.

I may be hyper focusing on wording a little, but I feel like it's a pretty huge difference.

I have one very simple question:

Who … are … his … parents?

Based on his LinkedIn, and what appeared in the story, I’m not sure what sets him apart from thousands of other wannabe MAGA assholes.

Which triggers my spideysense. Well that and the arrogant fucking faces he’s putting out into the interwebs like he’s Don Juan De La Nooch.

My guess is he’s probably a nepo-baby and his folks are either influential or made a ‘donation’ to get him appointed.

To quote Ocean’s Eleven:

“Never heard of him.” “That’s why I don’t doubt it.”

[–] athairmor@lemmy.world 83 points 2 days ago (2 children)

He interned at the Heritage Foundation.

I wouldn’t rule out “favors” being exchanged.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 37 points 2 days ago

People ask me what to invest in and I always say. You can never go wrong with kneepads.

He’s got the most nepo baby face I’ve seen.

[–] Absaroka@lemmy.world 22 points 2 days ago

100%

Now if this guy was some kind of prodigy, that would explain the face. But the stories I've seen paint him as your typical dipshit, 20-something MAGAt.

Minus that, there's a level of entitlement oozing from his face that screams "I think I'm somebody important because my dad/uncle/mom/lover thinks I am."

A 22 Year Old from the Republican Heritage Foundation, a Private Organization that Wrote Trump's Policy, being put in CHARGE of UNITED STATES COUNTER TERRORISM is Proof that DEMOCRATS are the Deep State!

Hahahah yea....yea

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

Only the best of the best of the best.

His sole qualification is probably winning The Official Trump Bootlicking Contest.

He is trumps bastard. Calling it now.

[–] rottingleaf@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

He does look a bit like young Trump with fake tan removed. But just a bit, and I think bootlicking enough is a better explanation. Narcissistic people don't care that much about biological relation anyway.

[–] buddascrayon@lemmy.world 24 points 2 days ago

Now more than ever, I am convinced that the Trump administration is praying for a terrorist attack as soon as possible. They want to enact their own version of the patriot act and scrape away any and all constitutional protections we all take for granted. I'm also positive they are hoping one will occur before the 2026 election cycle which could replace a vast majority of Republican congressmen due to negative perception of Republicans at the moment.

[–] mongooseofrevenge@lemmy.world 30 points 2 days ago (2 children)

"Since leaving college, Fugate has had a meteoric rise in the political world, having served as an “advance team member” on President Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign, according to his LinkedIn page.

An avowed Republican, he also interned at the Heritage Foundation...

Fugate was reportedly hired as a “special assistant” in an immigration office at the DHS in February, according to ProPublica. He then took over CP3 after its previous director quit."

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 29 points 2 days ago

The Heritage Foundation tells us everything, he's a POS.
