Harry Potter. Keep Alan Rickman obviously.

I would watch the shit out of this. Maybe before I die AI will get good enough to make this a reality for me.

Requiem for a Dream - Ellen Burstyn.

The entire movie would seem like her descent into amphetamine fueled madness.

Crocodile Dundee but only the knife is real

[–] ArmoredThirteen@lemmy.zip 17 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (2 children)

This is going to get me put on a watchlist...

  • Six String Samurai: The boy
  • A Boy and His Dog: The boy
  • Time Bandits: The boy
  • Brazil: Robert De Niro
  • The World of Kanako: This would be an unhinged fever dream no matter who is picked. I'd like to propose Ogata for shock value in a particular scene, but I think either Kanako or the main character detective overall work better
  • The entire Saw franchise: Jigsaw
  • SLC Punk: Heroin Bob
  • Tokyo Gore Police: Key Man
  • Hook: Everyone in the real world is human, everyone but hook in Neverland is a muppet, and Robin Williams starts human but by the end is a muppet
  • Les Mis: Javert
  • X: The old woman
  • Swiss Army Man: Daniel Radcliffe or Paul Dani could work here but I prefer the dead body
  • Any zombie movie but people start human and turn to muppets when bit. I nominate - - - Train to Busan
  • Audition (1999): The main character

Hateful 8.

Samuel L Jackson.

"You goddam sock puppet shot my balls off!!"

I would pay to see that.

[–] Wolf@lemmy.today 13 points 3 days ago

Pulp Fiction. Bruce Willis.

This is cheating a little bit because Bruce Willis is already a muppet.

[–] SkunkWorkz@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

The Matrix Reloaded. But only one Agent Smith is Hugo Weaving. The rest are puppets

[–] Adderbox76@lemmy.ca 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The Shawshank Redemption. Morgan Freeman

Either Alien (Ian Holm as Ash), Aliens (Lance Henriksen as Bishop) or maybe Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator). Just for the big reveal of "he's a machine", with all the muppets being like "oh woooow, that's insane, we literally couldn't tell him apart from us!"

Cast Away. Tom Hanks.

It's a movie that starts really goofy, gets serious for a long time, and is then oddly goofy again.

Irrelevant, but one thing I wish Castaway had done would have been to have him open that package he was carrying around at the end and find a satellite phone.

[–] Hupf@feddit.org 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Star Trek VII, Marina Sirtis.

Transformers. Keep only John Turturro. The rest, even the Transformers, are played by normal sized muppets.

Bumblebee is played by Beaker, obviously. And seeing Megan Fox replaced by Miss Piggy sounds like a fever dream

[–] Aksamit@slrpnk.net 12 points 3 days ago (4 children)

Rocky Horror. Susan Sarandon.

This is hands down the funniest option for this film, I have thought about this before.

The Sunset Limited. Samuel L. Jackson will remain, Tommy Lee Jones is replaced by a muppet. The movie is a joke room drama where Jackson's character has stopped Jones's from commiting suicide and trying to talk him out of not doing it again.

Major spoilerIn the end he is unsuccessful. Seeing a muppet definitively leave to commit suicide would be funny. You know, in a dark comedy way.

The Shawshank Redemption - Clancy Brown

When my wife saw that movie for the first time and hollered out, "That's Clancy Brown!!" I then knew why his voice was so familiar to me.

So now I'm imagining Mr. Krabs absolutely fed up with and not taking shit from any of these Muppets.

So either that or Airplane! and keep Leslie Nielsen

[–] idunnololz@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

The Prestige. Christian Bale.

But he only plays "half" of Borden.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 5 points 3 days ago
