An additional benefit is the bulletproof glass, in case the IDF mistakes it for an ambulance.

That’s wonderful. Israel will just blow it up, because.

He might have been old and frail, but apparently stayed up to date with world affairs.

While hopelessly symbolic, this is an excellent move to draw attention to the hunger and disease occurring in Gaza due to Israel's blockade on humanitarian aid.

Goodness, that is so touching. What a noble heart he had. Thank you for sharing this.

Its a Toy Yoda! ....oh a Toyota! Darn. Okay, it's still good.

Is that even remotely feasible without spending more money than it would take to buy a rolling medical center?

I think Gaza is not a money issue. The money that's already there, the aid that's already there waiting on the border would be able to do infinite good already.

This is actually good for two things:

  • calls attention to the issue in a way that pierces more bubbles than another Al Jazeera article
  • will call special attention to it again when Israel will inevitably blow it up

When you've got the Pope mobile in your sights, you'd hope that might make you question whether you're on the side of righteousness.

Looks like this particular popemobile was recently commissioned, and it's large. Built on a dodge ram truck. He planned to donate that from the beginning, though I suspect he expected to be alive when it was converted.

In related news this is the first time a popemobile was used as a hearse, since it's spec'd in a way that allowed that.

I think it's clever. If it still resembles a popemobile after the conversion the image of it destroyed may haunt Isreal. But yes, he ensured it would be feasible.

Probably not.
