You left Reddit because you wanted to tell a message

I left because I was banned site wide cause of an unpopular opinion in a gaming subreddit

We are not the same

There are many communities still on reddit for which there are no alternatives on lemmy as of yet and if you want it to surpass reddit you need to stop with the toxic attitude and the false sense of superiority especially since a lot of the content on this platform is just reposts from 4chan, x, reddit. If curious folk come here and all they see is toxic threads and reposts why would they stay here? This is mostly in response to the comments I've seen on here not the thread itself.

Wait, what's wrong with Lemmy?

I mean, I presume... I don't know, so I don't know

Its true. I have friends still using it and they can't seem to break free. I used Reddit since its inception, but left it immediately during the api-pocolypse and never looked back. I did the same with Proton when the CEO praised the GOP. I have no loyalties to tech companies.

Reddit has become practically unusable. Mods censor EVERYTHING even if it doesn't "break the rules" it's worthless trying to have honest discussions.

Luigi is a hero and I don't care if anyone thinks otherwise.

I once said on /r/nintendo in the context of Nintendo increasing the price of games that even if you enjoy their products, there’s no excuse to defend their anti consumer practices and that there was way too much “corporate boot licking” among Nintendo fans. It wasn’t a statement directed at anyone specifically, but I got a temporary ban for “derogatory name calling.”

Like…I fully understand it’s going to be a sub of Nintendo fans, and I also consider myself a fan of a lot of their games, but if you aren’t allowed to be critical…then banning me for that post kinda proved my point, lol.

I ditched Reddit because the writing's on the wall for them becoming a complete hellscape with their ramping up of censorship recently, and I jumped ship before that Titanic of a platform sinks.

Just deleted my reddit and joined Lemmy. Do I have to quit already?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)
