Showerthoughts

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

If we're lucky it kills most US politicians before it crosses the borders. (If by some miracle countries do the right thing at the right time, i.e. closing the borders)

the covid pandemic never ended, people are doing a dare every day by going outside unmasked

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Its become endemic & can be mitigated with basic hygiene and vaccine programmes.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

People don't do basic hygiene. The amount of people who never wash their hands is sickening

No. Because it's airborne and vaccines are not effective enough because not enough people are vaccinated.

PS I fucking hate long covid.

At this point, I don’t even care. Let a new Covid infest the anti-maskers and take them out of our misery.

except that's how pandemics get more deadly

Sadly, this is true. But since common sense is lost on those cretins, they can get what’s coming. I’m done giving a fuck.

ah yes, progressive eugenics

When there's an easy, widely available solution to ensure the safety of yourself and those around you, which you loudly refuse?

Yeah that's on you bud

Viruses are progressive, now. 😂 Good luck to you, and wash your hands. You seem like the type that needs to be reminded.

you seem like the type of dipshit that assumes airborne viruses go away with handwashing

Listen, if you want to keep arguing and being childish, Reddit is still available. I’m done now. ☺️

There always was. It just took a few years for the dice to roll that way again.

Wasn't this how "28 minutes later" started? They had a monkey they were playing truth, dare, double dare, promise or repeat with and bam. Angry plague!
