needs a bigger cross so we know shes christian... while she ignores all the cut services for poor people.

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 28 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Jesus was actually opposed to wealth and gaudy shows of religiousity.

These people are heretics.

Poor people are actually not so much people as real people. For them it's best to be slaves, actually.

Her ‘plus sign’ necklace is way bigger than most I’ve seen.

[–] ShellMonkey@lemmy.socdojo.com 20 points 10 months ago

Got to make sure the cameras in the back pick it up. Just the usual iconography and standardized blonde talking head they trot out to remind people what they should look like in their version of murica.

The percentage of area on someone's* look that's taken up by (the voluntary application of**) religious symbols exponentially correlates with how much of an absolute bell-end said person is.

* I guess clergy are partially exempt given it's a uniform

** I know there are some poor people out there forced to make their entire look a religious symbol. They're definitely exempt.

I guess clergy are partially exempt given it’s a uniform

Are they though?

I've never seen this version, it's fascinating:

“What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you build tombs for the prophets your ancestors killed, and you decorate the monuments of the godly people your ancestors destroyed. 30 Then you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would never have joined them in killing the prophets.’

Matthew 23

Okay cheers, gonna memorise that for the next time some zealot doesn't take "no thanks" as an answer

[–] Adulated_Aspersion@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

I'm going to shorten it: "Mathew 23. What sorrow awaits you Hypocrites!"

[–] Tempus_Fugit@midwest.social 41 points 10 months ago (1 children)

And it's Christians like this that made me an atheist. The most evil and worst of hypocrites.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Well for me, it's the complete lack of evidence of anything supernatural.

But yes, shit like this just reminds me that I made the right call.

[–] Dicska@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

While it was something similar for me, evidence/proof for something supernatural makes it not supernatural anymore.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 10 months ago

Lol exactly. It's like that Tim Minchin joke: "What do you call alternative medicine that works? Medicine."

[–] Gowron_Howard@lemm.ee 32 points 10 months ago (1 children)

This would be the beginning and end of her career if it wasn’t for Fox “news”. She’s writing her resume every day she gets up and lies on camera.

[–] Sprawl@lemmy.world 7 points 10 months ago

She’s so gonna end up a “news anchor” one day, huh?

[–] Sibshops@lemm.ee 30 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (4 children)

I don't even understand why reporters show up at this point.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 24 points 10 months ago

Directives from their republiQan owners

[–] rowrowrowyourboat@sh.itjust.works 18 points 10 months ago

Don't worry, soon they'll stop doing press briefings like they did in the first Trump term, which apparently everyone has forgotten about.

[–] Infynis@midwest.social 5 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

Because not showing up is what the administration wants.

Even worse. I don't know why they show up and pretend to be journalists. They are just propaganda mouthpieces anymore. And they have no loyalty to each other as journalists. If one of them gets ignored by the White House they just allow it and move on rather than imagining themselves as the target instead. It's sick. This country is absolutely fucked and the populace is to blame.

[–] gargolito@lemmy.world 16 points 10 months ago (1 children)

That huge cross on her neck makes it A-OK.

[–] GuyFawkes@midwest.social 14 points 10 months ago

Surprised it’s not burning her skin.

[–] Gerudo@lemm.ee 15 points 10 months ago (2 children)

And I bet that the remaining 17% is pretty questionable

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 13 points 10 months ago

That's probably the "and" "but" "of" and "the" parts.

[–] GuyFawkes@midwest.social 5 points 10 months ago

That’s when she remembers the “allegedy”’s and “we believe”’s.

[–] KingPorkChop@lemmy.ca 15 points 10 months ago (1 children)

What else do you expect from a DEI hire?

[–] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 10 points 10 months ago

Like the entire team, except that one guy who's a DUI hire

[–] GooberEar@lemmy.wtf 14 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

How do you know when Donald Trump is telling a lie?

His face turns orange.

[–] InputZero@lemmy.world 11 points 10 months ago

If his mouth is open, he's lying

[–] BeatTakeshi@lemmy.world 13 points 10 months ago (1 children)

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

[–] Boxscape@lemmy.sdf.org 12 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (2 children)

I'll say this, they found exactly who they needed for that job.

[–] Omgboom@lemmy.zip 9 points 10 months ago

Don't worry she's wearing a cross, it's all good

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 7 points 10 months ago (3 children)

At the least she should be jailed for years once this is over.

She's complicit in destroying hundreds of thousands of lives at the least

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

AwShuckabees got a governorship. She can get that easy probably in some shithole state.

I wish there was a source for this. Not that I doubt it but I would love to use it to show it to a friend of mine that still struggles to see how deceitful is the current administration.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 15 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Is there any difference between the plus sign she wears and the plus sign with the guy hanging on? Do they both mean the same thing?

As an aside I sometimes work alongside the International Red Cross and Red Crescent - fantastic people on the whole. Our group is mind-blowingly diverse. The only thing we seem to have in common is that none of us are (particularly) religious. We refer to the ICRC as “Cee plus” from the crescent and cross motifs.

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Paraphrasing the way it was explained to me as a child in a mainline Protestant denomination:

With action figure = "crucifix" = Catholic = reminder Jesus died for our sins.

Bare cross = Protestant and post-Protestant churches = reminder Jesus rose again.

I'm not sure about Anglicans.

Thank you for your service! More valuable than military work IMHO.

[–] Noel_Skum@sh.itjust.works 2 points 10 months ago

That’s an excellent answer which I’m gonna take as factually correct until someone can prove otherwise.

I’m strangely very proud of my work alongside C+ and thank you for appreciating it. Just a word of warning though: I was a childless single man in my early thirties when I started. If you have a life that involves other people think long and hard before joining - not everyone makes it back; and those that do are often never the same again.

let's keep dumb blonde jokes (implicit in "barbie") out of our insults please.

[–] El_Azulito@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

She also looks like Joseph Smith’s youngest wife.

[–] Bytemeister@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

#colormatchyourbutthole

Her lips got me concerned. From the lies too.
