Do they do scraps, curry sauce, or mushy peas though?
What's scraps precious?
It's the little bits of batter that float up to the surface when battered items get dumped into the friers.
Not all places in the UK do them which is strange because it's essentially a waste product.
A tasty wasty
This is exactly the kind of product nicknaming I would expect out of Britain
Nothing precious, what's scraps with you?
Little crunchy bits of cooked batter, sometimes sprinkled on as an extra. Normally given away free.
It is (or at least used to be) the excess batter that dripped off the fish as it was cooking.
Long John Silvers does that, though they are pretty rare these days. Never really thought about it, but that's as close to an English chip shop as we get.
BA-TTER BITS.
Boil em. Mash em. Stick em in a stew.
I'm afraid not.
No, we have standards.
Shit ones it sounds like
The only standard yous have ever had ended in 1971
That is very kind. But these idiots elected Richard Nixon in 1968.
So people want to eat mushy peas?
Mushy peas they taste great
Mushy peas, on my plate
Have them with fish, battered and cooked
Just one mouthful - now I'm hooked
