Every day I am forced to confront that the the Democratic Party won the White House and Congress in 2020 and instead of doing the smart thing and ending the filibuster, packing the court, and going scorched Earth on the GOP which, mind you, had just tried to overthrow the election, they kicked back and proceeded to do absolutely nothing of note except cut a blank check for the most televised genocide of the last 30 years.

A disciplined party could have un-fucked everything trump did in the span of a few month, but they chose not to. They chose not to, and now we're all paying for it.

The purpose of a system is what it does.

You know what? If I hire someone to guard my house, and my house gets robbed, because the person I hired (1) didn't lock the door, (2) didn't call the police, and (3) was too afraid to confront the robbers themselves, then yes, I will blame the person I hired for not doing their fucking job.

The conceit of representative democracy is that our representatives are public servants. That we appoint them to serve our interests. And when they fail at that task we have the right and the fucking duty to hold them accountable for their failure.

Cool story bro. Normalize conservative corruption and blame everyone but them all you want. Maybe it’s fun to be outraged and maybe there’s just not enough of it to satiate you? I really can’t under this logic.

But don’t complain when no one outside your window tunnel takes you seriously. No offense.

Oh, there's plenty of blame to go around. I'm not going to support conservative corruption. I'm also not going to waste my time and money supporting an organization that's clearly unable (or unwilling) to fight conservative corruption.

But hey, it's your time and money. If you want to piss it away on the corrupt, incompetent, Democrats, people who've proven they can't stand up to the Republicans and will waste any opportunity the voters give them, be my guest.

Supporting those losers comes with a hell of an opportunity cost, though.

I’ll spend my time and money on who has the best chance to defeat a corrupt administration. If I wanted to waste my money- it put it towards supporting untested and unproven 3rd party candidates that offer flight-by-night campaigns and disappear into a three and a half year long stint of ineffectiveness.

Reference?

What’s Jill Stein been up to lately? Anyone know? Cornell West? Anyone?

[crickets]

The term “put up or shut up” applies here. And if/when a viable and believable candidate shows up on a 3rd party ticket, I’d be happy to support them. But until then, my time and money is better spent in the actual fight- not a sideshow act that tilts at windmills.

If I wanted to waste my money- it put it towards supporting untested and unproven 3rd party candidates...

Yet you are more than willing to waste your money on supporting a party that has proven that they are't willing to defeat a corrupt administration, even when they have all the power?

What’s Jill Stein been up to lately? Anyone know? Cornell West? Anyone?

Giving speeches, teaching, doing interviews and debates. I know, because I saw them. It turns out, that when you don't pay attention to someone, you end up not knowing what they are doing.

Sure ya did.

And if only speeches moved mountains, eh? She’s every bit as ineffective as any establishment democrat you could name.

But you do you.

Best of luck!

I don't disagree. But here you are, shitting on people who actually want fascism to stop.

But you do you.

Lol. What would you do if you couldn’t argue against your own rewritten revision of someone else’s argument?
