"Моя родина остаётся немецкой" ist ja der Witz schlechthin. Vor allem – ist das nicht ein doppelter Witz, weil es "немецкая" heißen müsste? Mein Russisch ist ziemlich eingerostet, nicht dass es jemals was getaugt hätte...

Ooops, sorry, I didn't notice the post is in English:

"Моя родина остаётся немецкой" is a joke. Probably a double joke: shouldn't it be "немецкая"? My Russian is rusty - not that it was ever good to begin with.

This is actually grammatically correct sentence. However i never saw such kind of adjectives (немецкой/deutsch) applied to the word родина/Heimat in russian. Looks out of place. Can't imagine native speaker using such phrasing.

My Russian is non-existent... but yeah. Self-reflection isn't their strong suit.
