Don't nautiloids live much deeper than seals can go? I thought the issue was humans as always? Nautiloids are very easy to trick into crab traps (you need a long enough rope). They grow very slowly so they can't support large fishing quotas.

The current ones, yes, but I think the meme is a reference to how fossils of Nautiloids disappear in an area coincidentally with the arrival of pinnepeds, reducing their range and habitat to where it is now.
