Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

You suckers for propaganda still blaming Biden for Israel, but never the Congress that approved foreign aid to Israel, never the Republicans who this very moment are trying to remove the Palestinians from Gaza…. Cool, keep harping on that and ignore whatever the fuck Trump & Co. are doing to this nation. And to Gaza…

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 11 points 10 months ago (3 children)

Biden had the same foreign policies towards Israel as every president before him but the progressives decided it was too much now… and we’re still waiting for them to do something.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 4 points 10 months ago

also because MSM were constantly putting it on blast to derail his chances of a 2nd term, mind you the msms are owned by conservatives so they have an agenda against him.

[–] doctordevice@lemmy.ca 2 points 10 months ago

It's always been one of many reasons progressives stand apart from centrists, but are you really so tone-deaf that you can't see why it might have become particularly relevant during Biden's presidency?

And how, exactly, are the progressives supposed to do something when the Democratic Party puts more resources into beating down progressives than it does Republicans?

This comment betrays the absolute inhumanity of the Democratic Party. "Why do you give a shit about other humans, and why don't you do something about it with the zero power we've allowed you to have?" What a horrific position to take.

[–] ColeSloth@discuss.tchncs.de 9 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Why not both? Plus, he could have condemned backing isreal, regardless of what congress voted to do.

[–] chemical_cutthroat@lemmy.world 7 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Because it's never both. I could count on one hand the times I seen people on lemmy call Trump a genocide supporting megalomaniac and I'd still have enough fingers to count to 5.

[–] Grimy@lemmy.world -4 points 10 months ago

People call him out everyday. What you dont see is people defending him.

Russians found America's greatest weakness:

Most of us are pathetic whiners who will use any excuse to not actually do something meaningful.

Give them a chance to whine online, they'll put up with LITERAL fascism.

They used the exact same techniques to steer the GOP towards their evil dixiecrat core.

It's genocide lmao, kind of the best excuse you can find.

Shame the dems cared so little about their voters that they chose to give Russia such an easy win. At least Israel got to kill a bunch of civilians. Hope it was worth it.

Really fun that I'm supposed to get mad at voters that cant stomach genocide of all things, and not the pro-genocide party masquerading as good guys.

So, you realize Trump is 10x Biden/Harris or really anyone else when it comes to genocides?

Not just Gaza, but Ukraine, cancelling USAID, WHO, and generally destabilizing the planet.

Trump is the bigger problem, put a stake through his heart and then move on.

Or be happy being sent to El Salvador for even speaking out about Gaza.

[–] Soulg@ani.social 0 points 10 months ago

I've been saying this since November 5th, but this argument is completely meaningless unless the other choice was against genocide. And hey guess how Gaza is doing right now?

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 10 months ago

They also seem to think the conflict/occupation started October 7

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

but never the Congress that approved foreign aid to Israel,

You may have forgotten Biden broke US law by going around Congress to provide arms to Israel...

For the second time this month the Biden administration is bypassing Congress to approve an emergency weapons sale to Israel as Israel continues to prosecute its war against Hamas in Gaza under increasing international criticism.

Or maybe you never knew?

Of course I blame all of those people too, what the hell are you talking about? They should all be tried and hanged in a Super Nuremberg. The only tragedy in Joe Biden's cancer is that he won't live to face justice for the atrocities he committed over his long and comfortable life. I have hope that all the monsters in congress and both party apparatuses will hang one day.

[–] ModestMeme@lemm.ee 4 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Y’all “blame” Congress and Trump and Republicans only in passing when called out on it. Otherwise it’s the “Democrats” fault with no further mention of anyone else who could be complicit. The rest of us notice.

[–] Grimy@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

Both parties are wrong for enabling genocide. I wont defend either of them. Both need to stop and distance themselves from any genocidal states.

You probably see a discrepancy in comments about it because its mostly reactive commenting to people actually defending democrats for their stance. Everyone is in agreement that Trump is helping Israel commit genocide but with the democrats, there is always a scapegoat to point the finger at.

[–] NewDayRocks@lemmy.dbzer0.com -3 points 10 months ago

You "blame" the Republicans so much you never once commented about their involvement in Israel until now, when you are called out on it.
