Funding Mexican cartels to help smuggle jihadists across the border.

I'm not sure what she thinks Jihad means, but it probably doesn't mean what she thinks it does. Are the South American mothers and their children you are tracking down through the IRS because they pay taxes and are working for a living and trying to get their kids into school and put food on the table for them.... Are those the Jihadists she speaks of?

If she believes it to be struggling to get through life and acting in what they believe is the right thing to do, then she would be right.

If she believes it is supposed to be a holy war or some shit, Hispanic families trying to feed their families is not a holy war.

Either she is mistaken about what she is calling the struggles of these people, or she is admitting she is actively trying to deport families just trying to do the right things in life and get by.

Yeah I knew someone born pre-2000s whose legal first name was literally "Jihad." Similar to Isis (as in the Egyptian mother goddess), it's a name that has since gained some negative connotations. But iirc the way this guy described it is that it means "fighting the good fight" so-to-speak and could refer to literal physical fighting but could also refer to like, researching the cure for cancer. It's any great undertaking that is perceived to benefit the world in some way, and they wouldn't even be the first to apply that line of thinking to violently zealous evangelism.

The word means “struggle.” I’ve read arguments that the “higher jihad” is internal - more about the struggle to live a good and spiritual life.

Those are all just different words for brown people, no?

No you see, by mixing the words it makes them worse. These aren't just brown people. These are the über-brown and like any fascist group the US fascists see the outgroup as both infinitely inferior and an infinitely strong existential threat.

Maybe she thinks the movie “Acts of Valor” is an actual true event and not a 21st century propaganda film.
