Women are too valuable to be warehoused. The young and pretty ones can be trafficked as "Comfort Girls," and the rest are useful as house slaves, cooking, cleaning, tending to the DNA Storage Units/ Organ Donors/ Human Shields, etc.

That's not the point.
The point is men tend to start revolutions when given hard times, so it's best to march them into a meat grinder before they get the chance.
That's one reason Russia is OK with their losses, those are mostly minorities from less loyal districts, not True Russians (ie Moscovites).
