I mean yea, the Switch 2 is running some games at 4K that the Steam Deck can barely run at 800p. And somehow people expect the Steam Deck to emulate those better?

Steam Deck is great, but comparing two entirely different devices for different markets is pretty dumb.

Yeah, though, We shall see if 4k is reality. I doubt it.

PS5 did have 8k on the box, switch 1 claimed a whole lot of 1080p that wasn't the case. Dunno how they both didn't lose a ton on false advertising

They are demoing this on 4K screen for the live experience I believe. There's probably some upscaling technologies used, no idea if anything runs on native 4K.
