Same
Super same. I miss having a job where I could commit to a full volume Gollum impression for an entire hour and nobody would bat an eye, and the boss would come over and do a better one if he heard you.
I miss the creative violence of language, the impropriety, being among the dirty people who scream in the walk-in. The terrible music, the rough camaraderie, the thrumming full-body sensation of being completely exhausted after a long shift.
I don't think I could do it again, I'm slower than ever and it was always my weak point. But I do miss it. I guess I should answer OP's question: I cook at home, every meal for the family, every day.
